Liam's POV
Holy shit... That was her. Jenny. 3 years. I've seen her, after 3 years of my reputation building up and I guess I just haven't talked to her. Now, in some restaurant she's seen me- and she's crying. Seeing the first tear fall reminded me of when she'd first broken up with her boyfriend, who was some terrible kid who was just going to use her. She deserved everything he didn't offer. Right now I feel the same way I did towards him as I do to myself right now.
Zayn and I sit down in an awkward awkward silence as he sat there biting his lip with a blank expression. I could tell that he wanted to ask, but he was too quiet to call me out on it. Finally, after about 5 minutes the girls came out and Jenny still looked beautiful. Jenny sat next to me in the large booth and Maddy got onto the opposite side next to Zayn.
We all just sit sort of silently examining each other until I notice something on Zayn's neck that's partly covered by his polo and hoodie. "Whoa, what's on your neck?" I ask, squinting, before realizing exactly what it was.
That made Jenny start laughing, which I knew it would. She's always found those little things funny. "I didn't want to say anything," Jenny says, still laughing as she covers her mouth. Maddy smiles and rolls her eyes.
Jenny's POV
I can't stop laughing at how blunt he is, almost like old times again, except we were older, he was more confident, and I don't know it seemed nice to see us together again, with him trusting himself, like he's over everyone that hurt him in the past.
Zayn puts his arm around Maddy and smiles "It's from my beautiful girlfriend, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about." Saying that made her blush and he kissed her on the cheek, and they both seemed so happy just to be with each other. Why can't I have a relationship like that? No, shut up Jenny, you don't want a boyfriend or a relationship.
Liam seemed jealous after that, probably because he wanted her or something, but he was stick here with me as his date. I don't blame him though, I wouldn't want to be on a date with me either if I could have her.
After that my thoughts were taken over by the waitress asking about what we wanted to eat and drink, and we all order pretty quickly. I look Liam up and down, seeing all of his little features that'd I'd noticed when we were younger, but some have changed. Obviously, he started working out, acne cleared up, and his hair seemed a little bit darker, but that could be from the hair gel he's been using. He looked over at me and caught me staring. "So, you like what you see?" Liam laughed.
My cheeks turned red and I couldn't help but giggle. "Oh, yeah," I assured him in a tone that hopefully didn't sound desperate, because I wasn't sure what I was still doing here.
That made him laugh a little bit as he asked, "So, what have you been up to?"
I shrug, making it sort of awkward. "Basically all I've been doing is school and it's a little obvious, what's been going on with you?" I smile at his success. It still feels good that even though I barely helped him, it was still helping him to get to this point.
After I say that the food comes. Maddy doesn't really eat much of hers, but she doesn't usually eat much, which made me a little self-conscious, but I eat anyway since I'm still hungry and I'll most likely eat it anyway. Liam doesn't seem to mind it much though, which makes me feel a little bit better.
After we're all done eating and our foods been taken away Liam clears his throat. "So, ah, I was wondering if you'd like to come back to my place, to catch up!" he clarifies with his cheeks a little red.
"Yeah, sure," I smile up at him. Zayn hands Liam his set of car keys, as the keys are set into his hand he smiles at me. "Lets go!"
