Reunited

Chapter 9

Liam's POV

I woke up unusually early since I heard my phone go off, a text from Jenny. She'd asked if I wanted to go and hang out at the mall, which I almost agreed to, but I was afraid of how the fans would act around her. I don't want to hurt her or get her hurt again.

I told her to come over first, at least so I had more time to make an excuse of why we shouldn't go out. I know I probably should've just told her that truth, but she wouldn't believe that. She'd think I was embarrassed to be around her and I know it.

Once she's here I start trying to tell her I'm a little tired and think that maybe we could stay in today, since the weather isn't the best, but she says it's fine for the mall. We went through that cycle a couple of times before she finally asked me, "What's your big problem with going out today?"

I sighed and put my head down for a moment, but look back up, into her big beautiful eyes. "I really just don't want you to see the fans." That was a terrible way of wording that. Jesus Christ Liam, can't you do something right with this girl?

"Oh, are you embarrassed of me or something?" She asked squinting, but I could see a tear coming to her eye. She used to be so strong and I guess I never really saw how badly she'd felt after the 3 years.

"No it's not like that-" I start, but she walks out of the house before I can speak. I run out o the door she's just left. "Jennifer!" I call aggressively.

"What?" she yells back to me.

"Please don't go," I beg, weakly. I get closer to her.

"What are you doing?" She asks me squinting her eyes, pulling back.

Before I could catch what I was doing my lips were on hers. Quickly, I pulled away in fear that she'd hate me more than she already did now.

"I uh," she stutters "I think we can stay in today."

I smile and grab her hand, with confidence that I had no idea that I actually had. She didn't flinch away or anything, but I still didn't think she wanted me or had feeling like I did. We stayed inside after that and cuddled and watched movies. Her hair was a little messy and she didn't have makeup on, but that's what I liked about her. She was natural and didn't fake for anyone. I just wanted her to be mine.
