The planet of Enimet is thought to be created by thoughts, a common misconception I loathe. Historians speculated that the power of thinking bore itself existence as it was struggling to actualize in the universe and with that, came Enimet. Though commonly regarded as fact, I say otherwise. Thoughts cannot bring forth the universe for ideas are nothing without actions.
Since the planet is forty percent land land and sixty percent seas, Enimet is typically a sea-dominated world whose tides were the bane of the land for Enimet had two moons revolving around it. It has one massive supercontinent that remains unnamed even until today. Countries found in the vicinity of this continent are usually on good terms with each other, especially under the guidance of the Three Kings. No one can question their decisions for their words are final.
I was pretty deep in thought as I was riding in the passenger seat of our NSV, a sophisticated car model built for both racing and long travels, towards Drakkendale, the capital city of the country of Faunus. It's been ten years since I left when I was still seven years old, and now that I was coming back, it felt nostalgic. Looking outside my window, I could see ornids, a species of winged and feathered mice that are common here in the Fields of Decarron, perched in their nest on a shady Tole tree. As I looked back again towards the road, I gripped on the hilt of my sword, strapped on to my belt, as my father suddenly stopped the car.
"Brendan, it's already two o'clock and there's a Kakovin blocking the road," he said with a stern voice while smiling at me, "Can you please kill it quickly before we miss our appointment. Please be a bit careful, will you? You need to look formal for your interview with the principal later in your new school."
"Yes, dad. I understand." I replied in a reluctant manner.
My father is Crates Diggory, a leading huntsman and businessman in the city of Ignerion in the Pyrocras. He's pretty well-known all over the lands and he's the strictest guy you'll ever meet. Well-built and intelligent, he is a powerful figure in Pyrocras, the country of flames. While he is a bit intimidating with his short dark red hair and his eyes that resemble that of a falcon's, he still had a humorous side you'd see whenever he's in the mood. But ever since mom went away, I've rarely seen that side of his. Though, I can see now that he's delighted to be back in Faunus after living in Pyrocras for nearly a decade.
"Darn, I hate these Kakovins." I yelled as I drew my sword from its sheath and lunged towards the bear-like Kakovin that was situated two or three meters away from where I was standing. The Kakovin quickly paced to the left and charged with its poisonous three-clawed paws. I swerved towards it and deflected its claws away using the blade of my sword which bruised the Kakovin's paws making it snarl in pain. While it was still dazed from my attack, I plunged my sword right into its chest and pulled it back swiftly to deal the final blow. The mighty beast fell down and I moved it to the side of the road so we can pass through.
"Great job, Brendan! For a sixteen-year old, you sure are becoming like your father." He smiled. It's been ages since I saw him smile like that.
"Dad, I'm seventeen." I smirked and we both laughed as we rode away passing the corpse of the dead Kakovin.
Faunus is also known as the "Land of Beasts" so I can conclude that I'll be seeing more of those Kakovin in the future. The city of Faunus didn't change much since I last remember it. I could still see that blood-like color of the sidewalk and the different stores scattered in the city. There were lampposts decorated with pale white leuconix flowers shaped like birds. As we drove from street to street, I saw my favorite restaurant, Traverse Tavern, a fast food chain that many critics criticize because they claim that the food there is unhealthy and can cause morbid obesity in a matter of weeks. I laughed at the thought of it.
