A young man. Okay okay... a very handsome young man. He had pure light ginger hair and rich full brown eyes. I would estimate that he is my age. He reminded me almost of.... nah! It's definitely not who I'm thinking of.
" Hi, really sorry to mess up your day or night I guess but could I please use your phone to make a quick phone call? It would mean a lot to me."
" Here, and sure."
" Thank you so much!"
He went off and made the call, and then he went off. I was so drunk that I forgot he had my phone. He tried to tell me but I refused to listen and instead kept saying 'no problemo lach... never mind!".
When I got home I went straight to bed. I started my morning routine again with the make-up and sadness. When I went to get my phone I realised I didn't have it.
" S***!!" I screamed.
After seconds of my scream I covered my mouth. I started to pick up the pace and rush to get to work. When I got to work I went straight to Amy and asked her about my phone.
" I can't remember where I left my phone!" I whispered.
I only whispered because it would seem that I'm the only intern/ worker at work that isn't in a relationship or hasn't hooked up with a guy for the longest time. So basically everyone expects me to be really responsible.
" Lol!" Amy said
" Lol?! Lol?!" I said in a serious tone
" Just go find it!"
I figured out that she wasn't helping me do this.
" Call the phone!" I said rubbing the side of my head.
" Really? Nobody will answer you lost it."
" I didn't loose it! I gave it to a guy who needed to use it and then I went home without it!"
" Real smart decision there Einstein!" Amy laughed
I rolled my eyes and folded my arms. She called my number and a guy answered. He gave me the address so I could go pick it up.
That night after work I decided to go and get my phone. I ordered an uber because I couldn't be stuffed to walk. I kept ringing the door bell until he finally opened it. He let me in and took me up to the 9th floor. I thought he'd just give it to me but his niece was over. It will probably be the most behaved 2 year old I'll ever see.
That baby girl was sitting in the baby chair eating BABY FOOD made out of BROCCOLI, SPINACH AND CREAM CHEESE all by herself with a spoon that she is holding. Like WTF is that? Amazing right? Those are ingredients that even most people in adulthood don't eat. I do eat that but many don't. The fact that a 2 year old is, is amazing.
" Sorry to bring you in like this, the official plan was to just give you the phone but I can't leave her alone for more than 5 minutes because otherwise it gets real messy. Oh and here," he explains.
He hands my the phone. I try not to make eye contact because I felt really embarrassed. I vowed to myself to never ever ever drink again.
" Thanks!" I said.
" Would you like a cup of coffee or tea?" He said as if he wanted me to stay.
" If it doesn't trouble you much could I please have a cup of tea?"
His phone rings and he runs out. The kettle left boiling. I could see that he had the trash bag with him. He closed the door and left. I started to look around. I couldn't tell if my mind was trying to give me clues or what.
I desperately thought it was Lachlan but I didn't make anything official.
His apartment was very modern. It had one master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, one guest/main bathroom that wasn't in the master bedroom, one kitchen, one lounge/ TV area, one dining hall with a dinner table with 8 seats and a hall where you enter. It was very tidy. He started to remind me of myself. I started to look around since I had the chance.
My description I would say is very accurate. Everything is very monotone and grey with pops of really bright colours. It's really beautiful.
Master bedroom: it's very large and open. It has a 65 inch flatscreen TV. A king size bed with light blue sheets and pillows. A closet that's very broad and lengthy. A bathroom and a shelf. The shelf had decorations, books and photos. There was also a desk which was like an office I guess.
Guest bedrooms: the guest bedrooms were identical. They were compact but at the same time had a lot of space in them. They had a medium closet and a shelf with decorations and books. Both had 32 inch TVs in them. Finally they also had queen size beds with white and grey sheets.
Bathroom: it was very tight and compact. It has a toilet, shower, sink and large mirror. So basically everything you need.
Kitchen: it was an open studio kitchen. It had heaps of cabinets and shelf space. It had a stove, oven and washing machine as well as a sink. On the side where there was the window there was a tiny 4 seat table.
Lounge area: there was a large royal blue couch and a 75 inch, yes indeed 75, flatscreen TV.
Dining hall: the dining hall really only had the really large stone table that had 8 seats.
Hall: the hall was just a closet for hanging coats at the entrance.
In the master bedroom I saw a photo of himself. It was just laying there. It was torn in half with something. Another part perhaps. I picked it up and looked closely at it. It was of him sitting with a girl. They were in love.....
