At 1:00 p.m. on a Tuesday, Eric Young walked into the police station on State Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He told the receptionist that he was the perpetrator behind the voice, and he had proof. Eric informed her that he would not say another word to anyone less than the president of the United States.
The Milwaukee PD detained him. Desiring to rid the department of him, Milwaukee's chief of police, Lisa Rodgers, escalated the situation to her manager, who then escalated it up the chain of command to Washington, DC, to the desk of Matt Sanchez.
Somewhere in the middle of this escalation, news broke that the voice was locked up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Media flocked to the location, forcing Lisa Rodgers to deal with the situation that she had hoped to avoid.
Meanwhile, Matt Sanchez, under the orders of his manager, Melinda Shroud, got on a plane from DC to Milwaukee, entered lockup through the back of the police station, and sat down face-to-face with Eric Young.
Eric asked Matt if he was the president of the United States. Matt told him that yes, indeed, he was and that the Sanchez family tree had a bloodline to the Clintons and the Bushes. Eric was satisfied with this answer and agreed to speak with Matt.
Matt indulged Eric. Eric informed Matt that jet fuel did not burn hot enough to melt steel support beams. Eric and his organization planned to carry out the threat from the broadcast unless the government of the United States came forward and claimed responsibility for their role in organizing and carrying out the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Matt left Milwaukee. He informed Melinda Shroud about Eric. New processes were created to prevent people like Matt Sanchez from boarding planes to places like Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to talk to people like Eric Young.
Eric became something of a minor celebrity after his release. News cycles covered him for the rest of the afternoon. Lots of reporters were interested in talking with him. Then everyone moved on, and no one noticed him anymore.
