I was waiting for leona, my bestfriend, to come out of her hallway. i stood behind the wall blocking my view from her. she comes around the corner as i jump in front of her.
"Ivana! I've told you a hundred to times to cut that shit out!" She yells, rolling her eyes at me. i can't say she's ever enjoyed this "tradition" of mine.
I can't help but laugh uncontrollably, clutching onto my stomach. she takes things way too seriously.
a deep, unfamiliar voice catches my eye. it kind of just came out of nowhere and i couldn't help but stare in the direction of the guy.
"Lee, who's that?" I ask, pointing my finger toward a guy that's wearing a solid gray-colored hoodie.
"That's Ethan," she says.
"leona." i state, staring blankly at her.
"Yes?"
"I need to talk to him," I was pretty much desperate. This man was beautiful. All his features were jaw dropping.
the way he smiled and giggled when his friends would purposely slap his butt. or his dimple that got deeper and deeper every time his smile grew. maybe it was his hair that blew with the wind. maybe it was just his physique that caught my attention.
from what i've seen, ethan knew leona pretty well and leona knew ethan. wouldn't surprise me since leona pretty much knows everyone.
"Who's your friend?" he asked, smiling. his eyes scanned me up and down and i suddenly felt self conscious.
"uh, im ivana," I said, smiling awkwardly. my feet trip over each other before i gain my balance. i never had a good experience talking
to strangers.
"ethan." he smiles back. There was an awkward tension between the three of us. We all just stood there in the middle of the hallway waiting for someone to talk.
"Well, I have to go to class lee, text you later?" Ethan asks, smiling.
She nodded and I walked off.
↠ ivanas house
i walked into the house, groaning. i shut the door, catching my dads full attention.
"got any homework?" was the first words that came out of his mouth. i was hoping for
maybe a "hey honey, how was your day" or "go relax. take the day off" but no.
"Nope," I lied, throwing my backpack down on the ground. I was too exhausted to even try to do my homework. I had time to do it later.
i open my door, scanning my room. "jesus fucking christ leona." i swear, holding onto my chest, surprised that my heart didn't stop. "really? is the some type of revenge from earlier?"
her bright smile was plastered on her face, shining at me. i was always jealous of how pretty her smile was and how adorable it was. and here it is. "nope. I was bored and since your grounded i had to sneak through your window to get in here."
i walked over to my window making sure to close it and lock it as i clearly didn't do a very good job of.
"Why are you grounded again?" She asks.
"it's kind of a long story. so, how long have you known ethan?" i asked, trying to get to the point. i really wanted to get to know ethan and not just sit around waiting for him to do the job.
"i don't know. a few weeks? he's kind of new." she says, shrugging. "he texted me before i got here. apparently, he wants to facetime."
"call him them." she shrugs, pulling her phone out of her pocket. her fingers trace over the contacts in her phone until it runs over ethan's.
since he was aware of facetiming her, he picked up almost immediately.
"leona!" he yells, smiling. "where is everyone? you usually have a bunch of friends with you."
"actually..." she says, pulling me into view. i was nervous and could feel how heated my cheeks were getting. "i kinda snuck into ivanas house." she chuckled.
"about that." i whisper. "you should probably be a little more quiet."
"anyway, this is ivana. ivana this is ethan." she says. "as you already know..."
"as much as i'd love to talk to...the both of you." he smiles. "i've got practice early in the morning."
"oh, okay, well, night then." she chuckles. "i'll text you sometime tomorrow."
btw, i edited a little bit of this. not sure if i'll have time to edit more. i have a party to go to tomorrow but i'll try my best.
