chapter 3

Souls pov

Maka and I are walking to the DWMA and when she brings up an unusual topic, love

"Soul have you ever loved somebody before?" I thought about it... I don't think so

"I don't think so, why?"

"Oh, just wondering"

"Okay then..." we walk in silence then a thought occurs to me 'what if Maka likes me?' that dwelled on me for a little then I pushed the thought off to the side thinking 'that's ridicules why would she like me of all people?'

Maka's pov

"Soul have you ever loved somebody before?" It took him a minute to respond

"I don't think so why?" he asked glancing back at me quickly 

"Oh just wondering"

"Okay, then..." We walked for a little and said nothing I glanced at Soul and he was just staring forward... 'what is he thinking about?' when we got to the academy I finally worked up the courage to say something

"Hey Soul?"

"Hm?"

"Are you okay? You haven't been talking much"

"Yeah I'm fine" I just nod at him and we walk in the classroom. During the whole class Soul was just sitting there starring straight foreword and I doubt he's really listening to professor Stein

"Hey Maka is everything okay" Tsubaki asked

"I guess, Soul has been acting weird since I asked him.. .um... a question"

"What was it?" I gesture her to come closer and whisper the question in her ear

"And ever since he's been like-" I turn to look at him

"That" I motion to the way he sits stone cold with a glaze over his eyes

"Maybe he's just been thinking about it? The question that is" she suggests

"Huh?"

"Maybe he's just thinking about the question, maybe there's more to 'I don't think so'" I thought about it for a moment 'maybe she's right but what if he thinks I like him or what if he likes me but that's not possible...is it?'

"Hey Kidd is throwing a party tomorrow evening you should go, maybe that will be your big chance to tell Soul you like him?"

"W-what I don't like him are you crazy?"

"Shut up its way obvious that you like him and I'm sure he likes you to" she grinned at me

"Hey Maka, hey Tsubaki" Patty shouted

"Hey Patty, hey Liz" Tsubaki and I say in unison

"So guys Kidd is having a party, you coming?" Patty says joyfully

"Well I am but I'm trying to convince Maka"Tsubaki says

"Oh Maka come on, pleeeeeeassssse come!" Patty begs me

"It wouldn't be the same if you and Soul aren't there, or at least wrong at the very least" Liz comments 

"Okay okay I'll come" I cave

"YAY!!!" they all shout

"Sh okay, calm down but I don't have anything to wear and I'm probably not going to have any fun I never do" 

"We'll go shopping tonight and we will make sure you have fun" Liz says with a grin on her face
