Vance's POV

Light peeked blindingly through the curtains. I groaned out loud, feeling the familiar pounding of the hangover taking over my senses. I reluctantly opened my eyes, I didn't want to get up, I just wanted to sleep more. I vaguely noticed that we made it back to Sky's place after the party. If I was ever going to get up though, I expect coffee and pain killers, I won't otherwise. I lazily turned from my back to my side, coming in contact with the soft heater that was Sky.

But in all seriousness, my best friend really knew how to snuggle. He was the perfect temperature, not sweaty and hot and not too cold... just perfect. I watched him breath steadily for a while. He layed on his side, his dark hair fell over his pale skin messily. One of his smooth legs layed over my torso and the other outstretched downward. The duvet was thrown aside, leaving me to stare at pale thighs leading into black short shorts. He had an old loose tank top on that showed me a flash of toned muscles.

We've always been like this, since we were little, no matter how much Skylar's parents pushed us not to be very close. We always slept together. And we didn't think much of it, much like a lot of other people, who think it's wrong to even lay beside a boy (both of our parents for example).

He was like a girl. That's how soft he was. I didn't know how he got that soft, my skin was calloused and rough from lacrosse. That might be it, he didn't do lacrosse, he didn't do much exercise. He wasn't flimsy though, just naturally tiny in stature. His breathing faltered and a breathy sound left his pink lips, surprising me.

"Vance," his voice tapered off into a whisper, but I could definitely make out my name. His face was scrunched in discomfort and a cold sweat I somehow didn't notice before made his black hair stick to his forehead. I looked at him, feeling worry stir inside of me. I didn't want Sky to frown, his face would go to waste (not really).

I sat up, ignoring the blood rushing to my head. I leaned over the sleeping boy and attacked his sides, waking him up (he is a light sleeper anyway). His strikingly green eyes snapped open. A soft laugh immediately bubbled out of his mouth, drowning out any worry I had. I felt a small smile make its way onto my face. I tickled him harder, causing him to gasp and laugh louder.

"O-Oh my *laugh* god Vance *laugh* Stop!" He was laughing uncontrollably now, thrashing his head back and forth and pulling at the fabric on my shirt. Tears were rolling down his face now and he gasped for air. He pushed on my chest, not really budging me at all. His face turned a deep red and I stopped, letting him catch his breath. He laughed for a few more seconds until breathing in deeply. "You ass." He said breathlessly.

I just grinned at him.

"You were asking for it."

"I was fucking asleep!" He shoved a pillow at my face, giggling. It caught me off guard and I took my hands off of him and threw the pillow away from my face. My world tilted suddenly and my back hit the mattress, Sky was sitting on my waist, his breathless face looking smug. A evil grin grew on his lips, and a wickedly cute giggle exiting his lips. "You're gonna get it now." He started to tickle my sides and I sat still.

"That's just the thing, Sky. I'm not ticklish." An annoyed pout was on full display and I laughed.

"I know, just wanted to try it. Damn you." He let his thighs drop down, leaving him sitting fully on my waist. Sky's body seemed to crumple until he layed on my chest, sighing heavily. I brushed my fingers through his hair, catching tangles in the soft bird's nest. He moaned in satisfaction. I smiled. I felt so comfortable. I flipped him over so he was below me, one of my hands holding my head up. The other on the dip of Sky's waist. His left leg was still draped across my waist. I could feel his breath on my neck.

"Hey Sky?"

"Yeah?" He peered up at me.

"I love you."

"You're embarrassing. Me too." He smiled, his eyes piercing into me. I smiled back and tackled him in a hug. I layed on him for a moment, until he struggled to get out from under me. I pulled back, and continued to stare at him.

"Um.. S-So Vance?" He asked, his face turning pink.

"Yeah?"

"You remember last night right? Um so what does that make us?" He looked up to me nervously, biting his lip. I was confused.

"Last night? What are you talking about?" Last night was pretty much a blank slate once I downed my fourth drink. You could say I can't hold my alcohol very well. You could see the change of emotions on Skylar's face. He looked sad now, almost depressed like.

"You don't remember anything?" He asked quietly. I shook my head. Even if I tried to remember, I wouldn't be able to. He frowned. "Um.. Ok.." The smile I put on his face earlier seemed nonexistent now, not even a trace of it being there still left.

"... I'm sorry-" I start to apologize.

"Don't!" He yells. I jump at his loud voice. His body quivers slightly, almost as if he's gonna cry.

"Sky-"

"Just don't, ok?" He says, his voice tight. He removed his limbs from mine, he left quietly, mumbling about making coffee and left the room. I felt my chest ache painfully, what did I do wrong? Was it all because I couldn't remember?

What could've possibly happened last night to make Sky like this? I pondered for a long while, thinking of anything, everything... Just none of it made sense. My thoughts soon became jumbled and I couldn't exactly think straight with my pounding skull. I tried to dismiss my thoughts about Skylar, but I couldn't. I was worried.
