Okay... Okay... Calm down, Vintage. Calm down.

Sorry about that.
Anyway, I think I know what you're thinking.
Well, I'll tell you what happened.
I published a book, that's what happened!!!!
On Amazon!!!
Okay so on Amazon, if you look up "Able. By Amber West (my mom lol)", this should come up:
Able is for everyone, though is may be deemed as a younger children's book.
It is about how everyone is able, despite some differences they may have. It was written/illustrated by my mom and I.
It is based off of me and my siblings. I am Leopard, while the others are my brothers and sisters lol.
Okay so real quick, here is some notes. This is something that may set some animals apart from the others.
Leopard: very clumsy, needs glasses
Tiny Panda: nonverbal, smaller than normal
Giraffe: very fast paced and needs some help with slowing down and thinking
Tiger: angered easily, needs help calming down
Little Elephant: not as strong as most, smaller
Monkey: very fast paced, has a "port" from the Animal HospitalOkay so as I said, they are based off of my family. Everyone of my siblings have special needs, or something that sets them apart from most.
Sister (Giraffe): ADHD
Brother (Tiger): Autism
Sister (Tiny Panda): Down Syndrome, possibly nonverbal
Brother (Monkey): ADHD, Thalassemia*
Sister (Little Elephant): Down Syndrome**I think I'm gonna call them by those names whenever I'm talking about them lol.
I also have a special need, but I don't remember what it's called. Basically it makes me think different than most people do. I have been in advanced classes my whole life, because normal classes get too boring. I need a challenge.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the book! All money goes to a cause that will be explained in the next chapter or whatever lol.

*Thalassemia is where someone can't fight off the iron in their body. Everyone has iron in their blood, but people with Thalassemia have a harder time getting rid of it. They need to have blood transfusions, which is where they have the bad parts of their blood taken out, and new blood put it. My brother has lost his spleen to the iron in his body, and would have died had we not adopted him from China.
**Down Syndrome is where someone has an extra chromosome. Everyone has 46 chromosomes in their body, but people with Down Syndrome have 47. This may cause them to act and even look differently. Some differences are below:
•ears are a little farther down, and are closer to their heads
•not as fluent when speaking
•not as strong as most
•eyes are slanted and squinted a little more than normal
•have what is called a "flip flop foot", where there is a bigger gap between their big toe and the others
There is a show called Born This Way that I highly reccomend. It is about how adults with Down Syndrome basically cope with their lives, and it is very sweet and gives a lot of view about how much their lives may be different than most.
