The cicadas were humming as Alina read her newly bought manga "Heart Ace". The fresh book smell filled her mind with a romantic aura as she read each panel.

"Nina-chan..." He looked at her as he stood still.

"What is it Kageyama-kun?" Nina looked at Kageyama with a fast beating heart.

Gathering his courage he held Nina's left cheek with his right hand, "I-I love you..." He fell forward into a kiss as fireworks went off in the distance.

Alina immediately closed the book and screamed while stuffing her face on her pillow. I've waited 30 chapters for this! Finally! I-I can die happy... She kicked her legs up and down like a kid.

Suddenly Ellen burst through her door, "Alina, what's wrong with you? Quiet down will ya?"

She laughed it off while raising her head to look at Ellen, "Sorry~" She said in a sly voice.

Ellen looked at her hands to see the manga book Alina has been talking about for about a month now."Hmm?" She walked towards her and grabbed the book in her hand and started reading. "Nina-chan... I want to be together with you forever!" She read in a deep voice.

"Hey stop reading that!" Alina threw her hand towards the book but Ellen swiftly dodged it and stoop up acting out each panel she read.

"I do too Kageyama-kun!" Her voice squeaked. She spun and turned dodging Alina's attacks. "And so their night ended in them walking down the hill holding hands!" Ellen spun once more into a curtsy.

Alina pouted, "Now will you give me back my book?" She crossed her hands and tapped her feet on the floor looking angry as ever.

"Sorry my princess." She opened up her curtsy to give her the book back. Alina seized her book back and Ellen closed her eyes,"Y'know I'll be honest, that wasn't half bad." She finished off by opening her right eye looking at Alina with a slightly serious face.

"Heh, I bed you'd want to do that with Atushi-kun." She smiled back at her.

"Huh?!" Her face turned bright red at Alina's words. She put her arms near her chest to cover her loud heartbeat. "W-What are you saying?"

"Didn't you know that there's a summer festival?" She started dropping hints, "I heard it's a famous festival, and you know why?"

Ellen tilted her head in confusion, "Why?" She started getting nervous since Alina always teases her in the most ways possible.

"Well, I heard that if two friends come together at the top of the hill that views the town and one of them confesses the other will accept it!" She turned around a let out a hand to Ellen, "Ellen... Since you got here I had the biggest crush on you! So will you go out with me?" She said in a deep voice.

"KYA!" She covered her face in embarrassment, "Of course Atsushi-kun! I loved you all this time too!" Once she finished she let go of her face and closed her eyes while she held Alina's hand with a great smile.

Alina put her empty hand on her chin, "Now kiss me Ellen!"

"Of course Atsushi-Kun!" She started to lean in when she remembered what she was doing. She opened her eyes fast and slapped Alina. "Huh?! What do you think you're doing?!"

She hit Alina so hard that she fell on the floor, "Ow!! You didn't have to hit so hard... I was just playing around..." She held her cheek that she hit and stood up, "Well I wasn't lying about the confession thing so if you want to do it go ahead I'll cheer you on Ellen!" She smiled with her bruised cheek.

"I can't ask out Atsushi-kun out of the blue!" She started thinking of all the possibility's she could do with Atsushi-kun at the festival.

"Ellen-chan you got a little bit of sauce on your face." Atsushi-kun smiled kindly while saying that.

"Eh? Where?" Ellen rushed trying to find the sauce on her face with her finger.

"Don't worry I got it." Atsushi leaned towards her face ready to lick it off.

"KYA! What am I doing?!" Ellen shook her head back and forth in embarrassment.

"Pft!" Alina let out a little laugh, "What are you thinking of you cute maiden?" She patted Ellen's head, "Don't worry I'll set it up for you!" She winked and gave Ellen a thumps up.

---------

Alina and Ellen were both dressed up in pretty kimonos in their favorite colors dark pink and green. Even though they looked calm on the surface Ellen was screaming on this inside.

Oh my gosh... It's happening... Tonight's the night... I still can't believe that Alina did that. She clenched her fist and made an angry face.

---------

"Wait wait! It's not like I really want to go with him! Better yet I can't even confess my feelings for him!" Ellen yelled at Alina as she dialed Atsushi's number.

"Oh hey Takahashi-san! Yeah it's me Alina is it okay if I ask you a question?" Alina looked at Ellen and smile really wide while talking.

"Hey! Hey! Stop it!" Ellen tried stopping her by grabbing her phone but she kept going.

"Oh yeah that's Ellen-chan in the background." She smile once more with her eyes closed, "OH yeah speaking of Ellen-chan would you go with her to the summer festival?"

At this moment Ellen could hear her own mind and heart stop. It's-It's over... She hung her head low.

"Yeah? You will? Sweet stuff! Okay meet us near the entrance with the big tree!" She exaggerated big by putting her arms out and making a shape of a tree. Ellen couldn't hear what she said so Alina tapped her shoulder, "Hey Ellen did you hear that? He said he'd go with you!"

"Huh?" The words repeated in her head as she looked at Alina. "He said he'd go with you! Go with you! Go with you! "Wait with me?" She smiled once more, "Wait with me?" She said it once more but with a worried red face.

Alina nodded, "Yup! So lets see what were going to wear!"

---------

Ellen's face went a little sad I still can't believe she invited him out so easily... She looked at Alina who smiled confidently wishing she could be like her.

Alina even noticed Ellen looking at her and smiled at her. Ellen avoided her face in a red blush, "Aren't you excited?" She continued smiling at her.

"O-Of course I am! I-I mean y-you invited him a-and you'll be here w-with me and h-him r-right?" She put on a nervous smile while her face was almost as bright as one of those lanterns that hung above the stands.

"Calm down! He texted me that he's almost here! You don't need to confess but at least have fun too, okay?" Alina patted Ellen's back.

"Y-You're right!" She lifted up her face with a big smile.

"Good good. You look really good. Now if you'll excuse me... I've got to go!" Alina started running away from Ellen in scramble.

"Hey Alina what are you doing! Come back here! Don't leave me alone~!" Ellen extended her hand out to Alina who was out of her sight now. What does she think she's doing?! I need to contact Atsushi before he gets-. Her thought was interrupted by a voice.

"Oh, hey Ellen-chan. What are you doing here all by yourself? I thought Alina was coming." It was Atsushi. "Well who cares? What are we waiting for?" He held down on Ellen's hand and pulled it with him as he started walking in the direction of the festival.

"Y-Yeah lets go..." Her face blushed like never before. Atsushi was right beside her even holding on to her hand, she thought this was going to be a blast.

"Not to mention you look really nice today! I could tell that you put a lot of eff-" His words were getting quieter as they entered the crowd.

Dammit! I can't hear him anymore! I have to get closer... Wait for me Ellen! Alina rushed off to chase after them.

---------

It was almost half way towards the end of the festival and everyone was having fun even Alina? She kept looking at them from a distance but something felt off.

This is such a plain date... Ugh nothing like in my shojo books... She left them be at the festival. "Ahh! What to do?" Alina was outside near the festival going down and up from a street. "I'm so bored..." She let out a big sigh. "I mean might as well enjoy it too I guess?" She walked back into the festival alone from side to side she saw couples and families all around her, even friends going together. This is kind of lonely... Noticing her feelings she turned back to step outside of the festival, till she bumped into somebody. "S-Sorry!" She looked down in misery to notice that her kimono was drenched in squid and she quickly looked up to see a man standing there with a surprised look.

"Hey sorry. I didn't mean to do that." He looked off to the side. "Do you want me to help you clean that up?" He looked at Alina again with a worried look.

She gave a slight nod. Woah woah woah! What a hottie! Woah stop stop no! C-Calm down this isn't the time to freak out! She was flustered at the sight of him.

"Okay well follow me." He said in a low tone.

---------

"I think that's all I can do." He sat beside Alina who was sitting on a bench looking towards the ocean. "So what kind of person goes to a festival alone? Did you get lost or do you need me to find your mommy?" He looked at her with a smirk.

She stood up, "Excuse me! I am not lost! Nor do you need to find my 'mommy'" she air quoted,"Listen here I came here with my friend so that she could go on a date with someone and I just left them be! And also I'm 16 years old! Hmpmh!" She crossed her arms as she sat back down in a flustered face.

"So you are alone? Well it's okay I'm alone too..." He looked off to the side in a sigh.

Alina looked at him once more to see that he was wearing casual clothes."May I ask what happened?" She looked at him in empathy.

"I got ditch by my ex-girlfriend." He looked at Alina who was looking back at him with a cheerless face. "When I got here she just texted me saying that we're through." He let out a nervous laugh."Pretty embarrassing am I right? Standing alone waiting for your love to come but to find out that she doesn't even want to be with you." He looked at the ground with an empty face.

"H-Hey don't say that!" Alina tried comforting him, "You're not the only one feeling lonely! I mean I kind off did this to myself but I left my friend with her crush back there and... And I felt a bit lonely myself. M-My name is Alina!" She stood up once more and faced the guy, "L-Lets be lonely together!" She let out her right hand to him.

"Pft!" He laughed and looked up, "'Lets be lonely together?' Why would you say that?" Alina's face started to turn bright red realizing what she said even so he took her hand, "My name is Gareki, nice to meet you Alina-chan." He smiled at her as the first fireworks flew out.

"Kya!" Alina jumped as the fireworks took her by surprise. She looked at Gareki in a daze in a red filled face.

"What's with you?" He let out a chuckle.

---------

"Wow the fireworks look so beautiful!" Ellen said as she stared at them in amusement.

"This is your first time at a summer festival right?" Atsushi looked at Ellen as they were sitting on a hill that viewed the city.

"Y-Yeah it is!" She looked away from the fireworks to focus on Atsushi-kun. He was still looking at the fireworks. "And I'm glad that I got to spend it with you, Atsushi-kun..." She let out a shy smile.

"I am too..." Atsushi finally turned his head to Ellen who was looking down at the grass who was too embarrassed to look at him. "Thank you for such a fun night, I'm glad that I didn't spend it alone."

Ellen jolted up to look at Atsushi-kun. "M-Me too! I'm glad that I didn't spend it alone..." Alone? That word repeated in her head... Alina! How's Alina!? Oh my gosh I totally forgot about her! Doesn't she get lonely easily? I'm so sorry Alina I was being selfish! Ding! Her phone gave off a little sound."Huh?" She took out her phone that was in her purse to see a text from Alina. It contained a photo of her and a guy she didn't know with text reading, 'How's your date going Ellen? (๑♡3♡๑) I bet you're wondering who this guy is. While I am too ∑(゚ロ゚〃). Isn't he tots hot? Well I've got to go! Enjoy your date okay!? See you later! o(*≧□≦)o' Ellen let out a sigh thinking that Alina isn't lonely at all. She leaned on Atsushi's shoulder looking up at the fireworks. Thinking of what a festival full of love.
