Starting a new chapter

Chapter 1

"Hey, Emily, did you ever get order #7?" my boss, Jen, asks as she stumbles over to me.

Oh crap, did I miss it again? "N-no, ma'am, I didn't." I look to check the cash register so I don't have to look her in the eye.

"Damn, Emily, please get it right!" she yells as she stumbles off. It's only my first week at McDonald's, and it's not going the greatest.

Well, I'd better introduce myself. Hello, I'm Emily Perkins. I just graduated from high school with so far now intentions. I love video games, but my mother says I simply cannot do that for the rest of my life. I only live with my mother, and my eleven year old sister, Lily. Oh and there is my pug, Biscuit.

But anyway, my life sucks right now. Especially cause my overweight boss, Jen, won't stop complaining on how I do such a TERRIBLE job, geez. ANYWAY, enough about me.

"Emily, you're at the drive through window this morning." Jen assigned me. I nodded and went up to the drive through. Well, at least this is something to not look forward to, I'd rather burn my hand on the grill.

The noises stuff into my ears as I hand food to customers from the window, I attempt to smile, but I can't. It's early morning, I'm tired, and this job hates me, as I hate it.

"Can I get a coffee, and that's it?" I hear a man through my headphones. I switch on the mic and say, "Sure, pull up to your first window."

Crap, I forgot to tell him the price. Gah, it doesn't matter. Not unless Jen catches me. My other co-worker, Alana, hands me the coffee cup. "Thanks." I mumble. And stand patiently waiting for the customer at the window. He pulls up, and to my surprise he looks familiar.

"I mean..this is crazy, but do I know you?" I ask the customer as I hand him his coffee. He shrugged. "Well, if you're into YouTube, I'm Skydoesminecraft." he introduces himself. Oh my GOSH! I jump up and down. "I.I.I..do know you!" I squealed. He laughs. "Well, I gotta go, I'm holding up the line." he points his finger to the line behind us.

"I'll be back, same time." he chuckled. I nodded, grinning until my face burst. I rushed over to Alana. "Guess who I just met?!" I questioned her. "Uhmmmm, Bruno Mars?" she asked cocking her head to the side. "NO, Skydoesminecraft!" I danced as I sang the words. Of course, people were staring.

"EMILY, WHAT THE F*** are you doing?!" Jen wobbles over to me. Oh great..

"Sorry, Jen. I just met some-.."

"Oh no no..this has been the last time. You've been working here more than a week! You're fired." she gave me the scowling look as I removed my hat. "Well I didn't want to work here anyway.." I flipped her off as I walked out the door.

I skipped out the door and to my car. Oh great, what am I going to tell mom?

"Mom..I..misplaced a couple orders-.."
No..
"I wiped the floor with ketchup?"
Ew..that made my stomach twist..

I'll just think of it when I face her.

Oh great..and what about Sky?! I instantly texted Alana.

My text: if you see Sky tomorrow morning just tell him I'm outside okay?

I won't get a reply soon since she's at work, but she'll see it. Oh well! Time to nap!
