The next morning.
BEEP BEEP BEEP! My alarm clock went off, blasting in my ear. I slammed my hand against it. "SHUTUP!" I yelled. Lily peeped in my room. "Uhmmm, excuse me?" she whispered. I slammed face down on my pillow. "Nothing, sorry." I sat up in my bed and slipped on a jersey and some jeans.

I hope Alana kept her promise.

Outside of McDonald's
I sat outside on one of the tables, staring at the cloudy morning sky. I sighed. Will he show up?

Emily, he must've forgotten.

"I'm here where you wanted me." I hear a voice say. I spin around to see..him.

I silently thanked Alana as I walked up to him and shook his hand. In his other hand he ordered his coffee, like yesterday.

"An honor to meet you, Adam." I say as I stare into his eyes. He smiles. "Anything for a fan." he grins and gestures me over to the table where I was previously sitting.

"So..why aren't you at work..?" he started.

For the next half hour, we exchanged stories, sharing our dreams, and just simply talking. I personally felt I could tell him anything. He glanced at his phone. "Oh, crap. I gotta go." he stands up quickly. I stand up slowly, saddened.

As he walks away. I slowly ask.

"W-will you be here tomorrow?"

He turns around and smiles. "For sure. Thanks, Emily."

He turned back and walked to his car. As he slipped into the drivers seat, I broke into dancing. THIS WAS GREAT! I ran to the door of Mcdonalds, then paused. I highly doubted Jen wanted to see me, so I texted Alana.

"Guess who I spoke with today!"

I zoomed over to my car and went home.

Later when I got home, I found my mom sitting on our old burnished couch. She glared at me, then sighed.

"What is it mom?" I asked as I walked in front of her. "Alana's mom has told me you were fired." she mumbled. I slumped. "Oh come ON! You know how Jen treated me. I would've quit ages ago." I pointed out. She looked up at me. I could tell she was stressed. "Emily, you're nineteen. You should be a bit more mature about your career." she stated.

I looked down at my feet. "At least keep your job for now. And figure out what you're gonna do in your life." she exclaimed. "IT'S NOT LIKE I'LL GO TO COLLEGE!" I yelled.

I regretted saying that. She shot up from the couch and stomped to her bedroom door. She spun around and faced me. "You know it's hard without your father, Emily! We can't afford ANYTHING. Now grow up and help your sister and I!" she sobbed and walked into her bedroom.

SLAM.

She shut the door behind her. She was furious, yet saddened.

My words slipped..I shouldn't of said that. I'll apologize to her later. I slipped out my phone and texted my other friend, Mallory.

"Hey, can I stay at your place?"

I got a text from her about five minutes later.

"Sure, you got your mom flamed again?"

"You bet.."

"Don't worry, come any time."

I'm sure as heck glad I have friends..
