Why had I agreed to be the seeker for Hufflepuff? Having never touched a broomstick in my life, it definitely wasn't a magical day when I first did. Lizzy and Echo had decided to drag me out on a chilly fall morning to the quidditch pitch. AKA my living hell.

"Okay, so just staring at the broom isn't going to do much." Lizzy said, laughing at me.

"Well what do you want me to do with it?" I retorted, and she rolled her eyes.

"You know exactly what I want you to do. Pick the broom up for starters."

"Lia, I love you, but this is really pathetic." Echo said from beside Lizzy, and I glared at her.

"No one asked for your opinion." I said, getting grumpier by the minute. Echo frowned, but didn't say anything. I reached down and picked up the broom, shivering as a shock was sent through my body. "Why'd it shock me?" I asked, and Lizzy shrugged.

"It shouldn't have, but we don't need to worry about that right now. Mount it." She ordered.

"Excuse me? This broom just tried to kill me and you're telling me to sit on it? No way." I said, holding the broomstick out in front of me like it was contaminated with some sort of fatal disease. "Lia, c'mon you're killing me here! I need a seeker!" Lizzy said desperately, and sighing I timidly climbed onto the broom. It started to move and I looked at her, frightened. "Focus on what's in front of you!" She shouted as the broom started to climb.

"What do you mean! There's just air..." I said, and suddenly the broom arched down, probably from my tight grip and crashed nozzle first into the ground. I rubbed my head, "Ouch." I muttered, rolling onto my back. "That was awful." Lizzy said, giggling.

"I'm sure you're first time on a broomstick was just as graceful." I responded, and she shook her head. "Actually, my first time was extremely impressive." She said, and I glared daggers at her.

"Of course it was." I mumbled, standing up and brushing the grass and dirt off my robes.

"Hop back on!" Lizzy said, picking up the broom and handing it to me. I looked at her as if she was crazy.

"You're insane. I almost died!" I cried, trying to run away from her, but alas, she was in much better shape than myself. "Don't try to run, I could probably lap you." Lizzy said laughing, as I sucked in air. "Where did Echo go?" I asked, looking around for our short-haired friend whom had suddenly disappeared. "I don't know, she grumbled something about 'bloody quidditch' and then stalked off." Lizzy explained and I frowned,

"It didn't seem important to see why she was mad?" I asked, suddenly worried about Echo. Lizzy shrugged once again, before gazing at the broomstick in my hand. She gave me a puppy dog look, with her bottom lip classically sticking out.

"This is really important to you, huh?" I asked, and she nodded vigorously (still looking like a puppy, might I add).

"You have no idea how much it means to me." She said, her tone changing from the joking one a couple of seconds ago. I sighed and grabbed the broom out of her hands. Mounting it I tried not to grip the handle as tightly as before. The broom slowly started to move upwards again, and in attempt to not crash into the ground, I flew upwards instead. Soon I was way higher than I expected, and it was extremely cold. "Lizzy! I'm doing it!" I shouted, diving down a little bit and then moving up again. I slowed the broom down, and in an attempt to dive, I felt the broom wobbling. I tried to steady it but it just wouldn't stop. Soon, I was thrust off the broom, and landed flat on my bottom. "I'm sorry, Lizzy." I sighed, rolling onto my stomach and looking up at her guiltily. My bum was now extremely sore, and I had no desire to get back onto the broom. But the look on Lizzy's face made me realize that this wasn't about me right now. I was helping my friend, and to do so I would have to suck it up and climb back onto the broom. If I hurt myself again, then we could have a conversation.
