Hi guys!
Sorry it took me so long to update. I'm having a bit of an existential crisis and I'm just not super motivated. Don't worry though, I'm not dropping this story. Why would I? I have the whole thing written...
Anywho...
On with the Drarry!

Chapter 4

Eventually, Harry stood up and headed towards the Potions classroom. Slughorn had quit after the war and the new professor, a tall, thin woman called Professor Knight, was everybody's new favorite. She had choppy brown hair and kind blue eyes, and she truly believed that anybody could excel at Potions. Harry looked forward to the class most days, but today he was dreading it. He would have to sit next to Draco, and he wasn't sure he could handle that just yet.

He reached the classroom and opened the door, heading to the back of the room, where Malfoy already sat. His hair was unruly and he had dark circles under his eyes. Harry frowned and dropped his bag next to the table. Professor Knight walked in to the room with a smile on her face. The rest of the class filed in and took their seats.

"Alright students. Today we will be brewing Amortentia. Don't think about sneaking any out, there are wards." She stood at the front of the room. "Instructions are on page fifty-two, as well as on the board." She flicked her wand and neat handwriting appeared in white chalk on the blackboard. "You have ninety minutes, and I will be walking around to observe you. You may begin." The magical hourglass on her desk flipped over and the white sand began to trickle down in to the other end.

Harry lit the fire under his cauldron with his wand and gulped. He did not know what he smelled in the potion, but it would no doubt have something to do with Draco. Professor Knight wandered around the room, helping students who had questions and fixing a couple of bigger errors. Harry couldn't help but glance over at Draco every few minutes. He looked so tired, but so perfect at the same time. Draco added another ingredient to his potion and it turned a light, clear blue, like described in the textbook. Harry added the ingredient as well and frowned when his potion turned a dark, murky blue. Draco looked over and frowned as well.

"Stir it three times counterclockwise." He said quietly and Harry furrowed his eyebrows. He did as Draco instructed and his potion turned the same light blue.

"Thanks." He said, smiling warmly at Draco. There was silence between them for a while, which Draco broke first.

"Look, about last night," Harry's heart skipped as Draco spoke. "I'm sorry. I don't want it to be all awkward between us, so, can we just forget it ever happened?"

Harry frowned again. He didn't want to forget last night. That kiss was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He never wanted to forget that, and he actually wanted it to happen again. Minus Draco running away, though.

"No, Draco." Harry said, making sure that nobody could hear. "I don't want to forget last night. It was... magical - no pun intended." Draco chuckled lightly and placed a lavender sprig in his potion. It turned pink and Harry turned to continue on his own brew. It was quiet again and Draco spoke once more.

"What do you smell?" He asked and Harry pressed his lips together. He slowly leaned over his potion and took a big whiff. He sighed in content.

"I smell roses and chocolate, and fresh snow." He straightened up and looked at Draco. There was understanding in his eyes, and he knew exactly what the scents meant to Harry. It was quite obvious. "What about you? What do you smell?"

Draco shifted in his seat and answered without having to smell his potion.

"I smell first rain after a dry spell and old books " He nodded to himself. "And roses..."

Harry blushed lightly. He did not know what the rain and books signified to Draco, and he wasn't even sure he wanted to know.

A/N: Don't kill me if I totally screwed up on the ingredients/brewing time/instructions for Amortentia. It was an accomplishment for me to look up how to spell Amortentia in my copy of HBP! I hope I'll be able to upload chapter 5 soon, and it's a bit longer, but also weird. I have a bit more revising to do on it...
Anyways...
*Tosses white rose petals on you*
(I have white roses floating in a bowl of water on my table and they smell sooooo good!)
