The Morning of the last day of Freedom

I sighed as I felt the lukewarm water of our creaking and rusting shower rain over my head. Today was the day. The day I learn what is to become my fate, military or hard labour. Luxury or squaller.

'Lauren! Get out of the bloody shower!' I hear the 'gentle' (not) voice of Ellie, one of the four girls I've had the pleasure of living with my whole life. Yep, you heard me right, fifteen years I've lived with them. No wonder I'm so fucked up. I kid, I kid. We're close, almost like sisters I guess, no matter what I can count on them to be there to listen (well...not Ellie she just stands there blocking me out most of the time).

'I'm getting out now, you bitch! Don't get your bloody knickers in a twist!' I yelled back. It may sound mean but it's how we show our love for each other...through insults and teasing. I did say we were fucked up.

I wrapped my goose bump littered body with my favourite fluffy blue towel. And proceeded to exit the bathroom. Ellie was waiting just outside the door tying her brunette hair up into her signature ponytail. As she turned I could see the slight annoyance on her face.

'Goddamnit Lauren! The last thing I need to see in the morning is you bloody naked. I'm gonna be scarred for life now'

'Oh, sod off Ellie I'm wearing a blinking towel and my body is GORGEOUS!' I exclaimed with a flip of my short auburn hair. She rolled her eyes and opened her mouth to retort but I interrupted before she could even get a sound out.

'Talk to the hand cuz the rest of me can barely tolerate your existence' I didn't wait for her reply and started heading towards my bare walled bedroom.

'Rood' She muttered in her strange Ellie way as she entered the bathroom.

As soon as I had closed the door behind myself I made my way towards the outfit I'd already laid out the day before. It consisted of my favourite black skinny jeans, a thick, grey woolly jumper and pink doc martins. After I was fully clothed I added a few necklaces and rings to complete the look. I brushed my hair and looked at my reflection (I'm not vain I swear!). I sighed 'this is as good as it's gonna get' I grabbed my bag and headed to my door.

Time to enjoy my last day of 'freedom' with my friends.
