The Revelation to John Unsealed
(APOCALYPSE)
And he saith unto me,
"Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand."
Revelation 22:10
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
A Messenger Angel Speaks to John
From the first verse above it is clear that this book of Revelations that describes the major events that will occur during the end times is revealed to Jesus, the son of GOD. In chapter five we can see that what GOD has sealed has been given to Jesus, who is also known as the Lion of the tribe of Juda, one of the twelve tribes of Israel which is given the ruling scepter (see Genesis 49:8-11), And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. As a way to demonstrate the authority of Jesus over mankind he is also called the Root of King David of Israel. It is also made clear that the person speaking to John is an angel, who is speaking on behalf of Jesus, even in the first person. This is confirmed in chapter 21:16, "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." It is also proven in Revelation 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9Then saith he unto me, "See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship GOD." This angel will be showing John the things to come through signs.
The Testimony of the Apostle John: The person John who is recording the revelations shown to him by the angel is the apostle and beloved disciple of Jesus. This is confirmed in John 21:20, Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me.
Jesus Reveals Mysteries to John: We can see how Jesus reveals the hidden to John, his beloved disciple, in the following passage of John 13: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
