I ran all the way to the transporter room. I ignored everyone else around me. I just had to get to Spock. I practically slipped trying to get into the door. Kirk was already in the room.

"Captain, you let them see our ship," Spock said in an astonished voice.

Kirk and Bones shook their head in amazement."He's fine," Bones huffed.

Uhura's voice came out over the comm. She sounded worried, too worried. "Bridge to Captain Kirk."

Kirk turned his head. "Yes, Lieutenant?"

"Is Commander Spock on board, sir?"

"Safely and soundly."

"Please notify him that his device has successfully detonated."

Kirk turned to Spock with a smile. "You hear that? Congratulations, Spock. You just saved the world."

Spock was not moved. "You violated the Prime Directive."

Kirk shook it off. "Oh, come on, Spock. They saw us. Big deal."

Spock stepped down from the pads. He walked up to me, careful not to touch me as his suit was still hot. He looked at me with gentle eyes, and I gave him a smile, tears of relief flooding my eyes. He nodded at me and walked through the door.

I changed into dry clothes and walked down to the laboratory. I knew Spock would be there getting out of that suit. As I walked in, I stopped dead in my tracks. Ahead of me was Lieutenant Uhura and Spock. Spock seemed annoyed, I could feel it. Uhura was helping him out of his suit and talking softly to Spock.

"Are you hurt?" She asked.

"No...," Spock mumbled while trying to get his helmet off.

"Here, let me help you with that," Uhura offered. She reached up and slid his helmet off. She stared into his eyes and he stared back. He looked away, trying to show no interest.

He took off the torso part of his suit, and it plopped to the ground with a loud "thud". Next was his arms. He took the arm pieces off, letting them fall to the ground. Uhura bent down and took off his leg pieces. Spock sighed and stood up straight, ignoring the fact Uhura kept caressing his legs in the process. Once the leg pieces were off, he bent down and took off the metal boots. Under his suit was a tight black suit, similar to the wet suit I was wearing before.

Uhura bit her lip to hold back a laugh. "Do you need help with that?" She said while motioning to his black suit.

"I am perfectly capable of helping myself, Lieutenant," Spock said.

Uhura looked him straight in the eye. She leaned forwards, and Spock leaned in. Their lips touched, and I let out a small gasp. Thanks to Spock's Vulcan hearing, he heard me. He quickly broke apart and stared at me with horrified eyes.

"P-Penny... I didn't realize you were standing there," he said, obviously shaken up.

"No, I guess not," I said, choking on my words. Uhura stood behind Spock, a smirk covering her face.

"Penny, please. Let me explain," Spock said.

I put my hand up to stop him. "There is no need, Spock. I understand. You want her instead of me," I said. My lip started to quiver and he stepped forwards. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it and looked down. "How could you?" I whispered. I turned away and ran back to my quarters.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't all that mad. After the stunt Spock pulled today, it was like he didn't even care about us. About me.
