After our awkward conversation Jayden started talking to Angel and Kaylie. Why did I have to act so stupid, he probably thinks I'm a crazy asshole who kills people in there sleep.
Just as Kaylie was about to say something to all of us she was interrupted by her tacky ringtone.
She fished her pink and purple phone out of her pocket, looked at her phone and said ,"Sorry, I need to take this."
She answered her phone and said into the receiver, "Hey, mom."
Not long after listening to her mom and hanging up she turned to us and quickly explained to us that her and Angel had to go. Before Jayden or I could even ask them anything they were off.
" Guess it's just you and me", Jayden said while raising his eyebrows up and down. Just as he said that I realized I could be myself around him.
" You make it sound like were going to start making out or something", I laughed.
" Haha very funny"
" So, tell me about yourself"
" Well I like hockey"
"OMG! I love hockey. The only thing is that I won't be playing this year because I'm to busy".
So our conversation went on like that for awhile and I learned that even though we may not like exactly the same things we actually have really similar personalities.
This guy seems like one of the coolest people to have as a friend. So I decide to lock up all feelings for him and shove it to the back of my mind because I realized that if we were bf and gf that all this would change and I don't want that.
I started gazing into his eyes. They were beautiful, dark blue collided with light blue and it seemed like their sole purpose was for girls to get lost in them.
I was brought back to reality when I heard Jay say, "I'm getting hungry, We should eat something."
" I know we should go to the corner store down the road and get some junk food", I said.
Soon we were walking up to the corner store. As we opened the glass door a bell rang and we stepped in.
We live in a small town that was pretty run down so the corner store was not in the best of shapes but it did have lots of junk food for a cheap amount of money.
We went up and down the isle collecting what we wanted when we were done we met back at the cash register. The cashier ( a pale balding man) scanned through all of our stuff.
Jay and I combined our money and barely had enough for all of our food.
After we took our stuff and waved goodbye to the man at the cash register we headed back to the field.
We sat in the field just hanging out. Jay was eating a hotdog and I was plucking out pieces of grass and braiding them.
Jay turned towards me and said," you know we should eat our potato chips now."
"Sure" I replied.
He grabbed his BBQ flavor and I grabbed my dill pickle chips. As we opened them they made a satisfying popping noise. We started munching away.
After awhile of enjoying our tasty chips Jay thrust his hand into his potato chip bag and pulled out a large chip. He offered it to me and just as I was about to grab it he snatched it back and shoved it in his mouth.
"Hey you can't do that", I said and lunged at him but he easily swerved out of the way.
Soon we were rolling around on the ground laughing tell it hurt.
" Oh crap I got to go home", I said
" Okay, but let me help you gather up your stuff.
After I had all my stuff I turned to Jay and said, "Well I guess this is goodbye."
" Goodbye" he simply stated.
I turned to leave but was stopped by a callused hand wrapping around my wrist. I looked and it was Jay. He leaned in close to the side of my head and tickled my ear with his breath as he said, "I had fun today. Will you meet me here again tomorrow after school?"
I nodded my head and he let go of my wrist.
My cheeks were probably scarlet.
With that I practically skipped home.
I love your eyes. But I love mine more because without them I can't see yours.
