When I got out of the shower, he was drying himself off. He dried his feet first, came all the way up through his legs to his abs and back, and ended up in his head. Although his hair was short, it was long enough to make a wonderful picture of it, all messed up and quite wet. He started dressing himself up. Then, he turned to me and said “Why are you standing there? C’mon, you’ll be late for your next class”.
“Yeah, I was just… thinking”, I quickly said. I started drying myself off and he told me, while he finished putting his sweater on “What class do you have now?”
“Biology. You?”
“Music”, he said, while he tied his shoes up. “Do you want to be like those mad scientists who create monsters to keep humanity safe, but the only they get is destruction and death?”, he said, looking at me, with a wide smile on his face, while I started dressing myself up.
“That’s so much fiction, don’t you think?” I laughed. “But yeah, I’d like to, someday. Researching, I mean, not monsters” I said; he laughed, leaning back, resting his head and back against the wall, looking at me. “And you, do you want to be like those old musicians who want to compose the perfect song?” I said, firing back.
He laughed, and then, said “No. Actually I want to do soundtracks for films”, he said, pretty sure of himself.
I finished dressing myself up, so I took all my stuff, put it in my bag and said “You coming?”. He stood up in front of me and said “Wait”. He was looking at my hair, and with his hand, he combed it a bit. “Now we can go”, he said, when he was finished, looking at me, with a smile on his face.
I smiled and got my look down, I don’t know why. Maybe I got ashamed, I don’t know.
“Let’s go?” he said.
“Let’s go” I answered, and we went out of the dressing room.
We started walking down the halls, to our lockers. The strange thing is that his was next to mine. I had never known whose it was, because I had never seen anyone taking things in or out of it, but I had neither wondered too much about it. Since then, I do.
He got his things, locked his locker and said “I’m leaving, don’t want to be late in my first class. Do you mind grabbing lunch after?”
“Of course not” I said. “I’ll wait for you on the main entrance, ok?”
“That’s perfect. See you then!” He patted my shoulder and started running through the halls.
I stood there, looking to where he had gone, as it was an angel who had left instead of Max. Well, maybe he actually was an angel. At least for me.
