"Another one?!" Leo exclaimed, finally stilling his fidgety hands. The makeshift boat that had been sailing through the air swirled downward, but everyone was staring at the man at the head of the table. He was wearing a smart button down shirt with a gray vest, but under his waist, his horse forelocks were silky soft white.
"Yes," Chiron answered them in a world-weary voice.
"Just my luck, three prophecies in one lifetime," A dark-haired boy sulked, seated the farthest away from Chiron. His sea-green eyes stared moodily at the centaur, his lean arms crossed.
"So what are we killing this time?" A muscled boy with faintly Asian features asked tiredly, hefting the bow strung across his shoulders. A dark-skinned girl with rambunctious cinnamon curls put a hand on his arm, and he relaxed his tense muscles the slightest amount. The others, a tan, choppy-haired girl with a beautiful blue feather hanging from a braid and startling kaleidoscope eyes stayed silent. She sat next to a blonde boy with calm, blue eyes, hidden behind golden spectacles, and a scar on his lip and another blonde, a girl with stormy gray irises focused on Chiron. A boy, dark-haired and with bags under his eyes, twisted a skull ring around his finger as he listened to Chiron.
"Not killing, necessarily. You'll have to go to the Big House to understand, all eight of you." Suddenly, one of the Stoll twins burst into their conversation in panic, gesturing wildly.
"Sir, there's, well," He started, still gesticulating with his hands.
"Yes, Connor?" Chiron barked, not unkindly, at his stuttering.
"There's a girl who just appeared at camp, with, like, no satyr and defeated this weird dirt fist, so I thought you should know," He stumbled over the words hurriedly, and at the sound of yelling, managed a grin. "Probably should go and help her. You know, in case an Ares kid, like, tries to eat her alive or duel to the death or something." Connor ducked out quickly, like he'd never been there, leaving behind only a dropped 3 Musketeers bar.
