I never thought it would happen. But it did. I had only read about them but I never dreamed that one day I would meet them! This is my encounter with the Black Eyed Kids.
It was late one night and I was driving on the interstate. My car was the only one for miles. I would only pass an occasional streetlight. As I crested a hill, illuminated by the stars, were two kids. The younger one a boy the older one a girl. I didn't see their black eyes when I first saw them but if I had it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Anyway I stopped and rolled down my window.
"Hey you kids okay?" I asked.
"We need a ride to our mother's house, he's very worried." The girl said in a monotone voice, almost as if she's said it a million times.
"Where's your mother's house? C'mon and get in the car. You can give me directions." I waved them over. The kids both got in the backseat. They sat silent for a while as I drove down the dark road.
"Turn here." The boy pointed to a gate that said NO TRESPASSING! Despite my better judgement I opened the gate then got back into my car. Before I could restart the engine a hand covered my mouth. It was the girl. Her eyes were completely black and her mouth was ripped into a sharp-toothed grin. The boy looked similar.
"Shhhh." The girl raised a hand. She had claws that were three inches long on each finger. In a panic I flung a fist at her. My hand connected with her jaw. With a growl she fell back. I jumped out of my car and ran. I ran as fast as I could to the nearest building, which turned out to be a gas station/McDonald's.
To this day I will not drive alone at night. I have become afraid of kids, it may have developed into a phobia. Hold on, I hear knocking at my door. It must be the UPS guy. But it's strange, he never knocks.
