Ch.10: Funeral

The funeral was today, Harry was sitting with Louis on the couch. Harry and Louis just didn't say anything. What could you say when your best friend is dead and there's nothing you could do about it. Niall walked into Larry's apartment and looked at Harry. "Haz" Niall called out Harry's nickname and Harry turned to face Niall. "Can you help me with my tie" Niall asked while looking down at the ground. Harry nodded and adjusted Niall's tie and Niall gave Harry a small smile. "I guess we should get going" Harry told Louis and Niall. Harry put his hand out for Louis to grab and Louis did it with ease. He held Harry's hand and Niall followed Larry out of their apartment. The boys went into the car that Simon sent out and once again boys found themselves in silence, the radio wasn't playing and Niall looked down at his phone seeing tons of articles about One Direction being over and Liam's death. It was truly heartbreaking and Niall was holding back tears. The car stopped suddenly and all of the boys got out of the car. They saw Zayn wearing a black suit and Zayn was fiddling with his sleeves. "Hey Zayn" Niall greeted the ex member of One Direction. "Hey, how are you?" Zayn questioned Niall and Niall shrugged his shoulders. "I'm as good as I can be. It still feel strange to be away from that basement" Niall answered him honestly. Niall felt a tap on his shoulder and there stood Josh Devine. "Hey" He greeted Niall and Zayn walked away leaving the two exs to be reunited. "What you doing here" Niall asked not trying to be rude or anything. "I thought you might need someone today" Josh rubbed the back of his neck and Niall hugged Josh tight and Josh could felt the tears soaking his shirt but Josh didn't care about that. He felt his heart break hearing Niall's crying and knowing there was nothing he could do. There was nothing anybody could have done. Liam's dead and praying and hoping wasn't going to change that. "Thank you for coming" Niall pulled away from Josh's chest. Josh saw Niall's eyes were red and puffy now. "Of course, anything for you Niall" Josh gave Niall a small smile on his face. "Sit by me" Niall asked Josh and Josh just nodded and he took Niall's hands. They took a seat next to Larry and the priest came out and started making a speech about Liam and how Liam was a good person who cared about numerous people and how he wasn't selfish at all. Niall put his head on Josh's shoulders and Josh wrapped his arms around Niall unlike Larry. Harry and Louis were keeping their distance from one another. Maybe cause they blamed both of them for the Liam's death but the only person who should be blamed was Lucas. Blaming people wasn't what Liam was all about. Steven wasn't arrested and he was sitting the back with his friend, Tony. "Why are we here" Steven asked Tony and Tony just didn't say anything and just watched his friends break down in tears especially when each of the boys broke down in tears. Louis was crying the hardest and Niall wanted to be buried with Liam. Josh had to pick up Niall from the cassette. It broke Tony's heart. "You are really messed up for wanting to see how they grieve your death Liam" Steven folded his arms across his chest. "I wanted to see how they are doing" Tony exclaimed to Steven. "Not well, I mean they best friend is dead and not coming back alive" Steven responded to Tony and Tony just glared at Steven. "Hey I wasn't the one who came up with the idea" Steven put his hands up in the air. Steven saw the boys walked up to him. "Steven, you came" Niall rubbed the back of his neck and Steven looked at the ground. Tony was gone and disappeared back in Steven's car. "Yeah, I'm sorry I never thought that Lucas would have killed Liam. He didn't deserve to die" Steven apologized and looked at the ground. "Yeah he didn't deserve it but it wasn't your fault Steven, it's Lucas fault and he'll rot in hell" Niall commented and gave Steven a hug. "We wanted to say thank you for everything" Harry thanked Steven and Steven nodded. "I should get going" Steven shook everyone's hands and he stopped at Louis and Louis finally shook Steven hand and Steven gave them all a small smile and hopped in his car to see Tony looking at the ground. "That was torture 'Tony'" Steven glared at Tony and Tony sighed and the car drove off. "So you going where now" Steven asked Tony and Tony looked out the window. "I need to leave the country actually. Australia sounds amazing" Tony gave Steven a small smile. "So you ready to leave Liam Payne behind there's no way going back now" Steven pointed out to Steven and Liam aka Tony looked at Steven. "Yeah I'm ready to start fresh, One direction did amazing things for me but I need to go and the boys will be fine without me" Liam aka Tony confessed to Steven and Steven shook his head. "Liam, they were fine without Zayn but without Liam Payne broke the world" Steven mentioned to Liam and Liam knew that he read the articles that were publishing and he knew how heartbreaking it was for the directioners to know that Liam Payne was no more. Liam was happy that he could be free and not worry about Lucas anymore. He was getting his freedom from the paps, contracts, record label. He never wanted any of this to go away but this was the only way he could make sure no one else that he loves get hurt by Lucas. Lucas was never going to stop until Liam was dead so Liam made sure of it.
