I bite my lip as I walk forward, my feet slowly taking me down the sidewalk of a busy London, England. I am constantly apologizing for running into people; I'm clumsy, for one, and I don't know my way around this British city at all, for another. I'm just an American girl with intent on finding a job. I moved here about a week ago with my friend, Montanna (everybody calls her Monty because she isn't keen on being called her real name, because she 'kind of hates it'), and we bought this cute, little apartment located on this street somewhere (I feel bad because I live on it and I don't remember it!). We always wanted to live here, mainly because we're American and, come on, British guys are hot, and now we do!
Right now, I'm actually looking for a Starbucks because I've been craving some Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino. I haven't had one in what seems like years, and I really want one now!
I get my phone out of my pocket, unlocking it and smiling softly as the picture of Monty and I as the background. You just have to love us; we're too adorable. We're even those best friends that might just a little too lesbian with each other, but who cares? I bite my lip again as I go to the GPS app, Maps, and type in Starbucks to see which is the closest. I watch the screen load and it tells me that if I cut through a park right near me, a Starbucks would be right there. I nod to myself and back out of Maps.
I shrug my shoulders back as I glance around then spot the park the map showed and walk towards it, shoving my hands into my pocket. I subconsciously start playing with the ring on my right ring finger as I walk down a little path through the middle of the beautiful park.
"Heads!" someone yells; a guy with a high-pitched voice sounds like it. I look up and I see a soccer ball flying towards me. I find myself smirking slightly as I step back and kick the ball back in the direction it came flying professionally, proud of myself. In high school, I was on the soccer team and I was the best player on the field.
I watch the ball fly back into the hands of...oh my god. I breathe in and out slowly as he walks towards me, a smile plastered onto his lips; that oh-so-amazing smile. My heart nearly stops as he stops in front of me, holding the soccer ball to his side. "Hello there," he says, his voice even more perfect in person. "You have some nice football skills." I furrow my eyebrows slightly.
"Football?"
Louis laughs, making my heart swell in my chest as the sound echoes in my ears, wanting it to never end. But sadly, as all good things do, it ended. "Soccer," he corrects, smiling down at me. I let out a noise of realization. "I didn't realize you were American." He holds his hand out and his shirt sleeve slides up, revealing his tattoo and I melt mentally. I slowly reach out, wrapping my hand around his, shaking it.
"I'm Lexi," I murmur. I watch as his eyes lightly up in amusement as he looks down into my eyes. "What?" He glances down and I do, too, seeing my hand still wrapped around his. Dropping his hand, I flush a deep red, keeping my head down and letting my hair fall down to cover my face. "I'm sorry."
"It's quite fine and you're very adorable." I smile softly, my cheeks worsening to a darker red before I glance up, my eyes connecting onto his blue ones. "Very beautiful, too."
I shake my head, stepping back away from him. "I'm nowhere near beautiful," I say as I look up completely, finally finding my voice as I stare into his eyes. "I don't know what universe you think you're in but it is not one where I am beautiful; and I'm not beautiful in any, so get a reality check."
Louis laughs out loudly, throwing his head back. I furrow my eyebrows, watching him intently. He slowly calms back down before looking back down at me. "Well, Lexi, you're certainly a sassy girl," he comments before winking. "And I like it."
