At my school, we have a group called the SSAGD - the Same Sex Attracted Gender Diverse group. Everyone just called it the LGBTQ+ group. We talk about support and awareness for, well, people who identify as same sex attracted, or, gender diverse. Now our acting principal was meant to come to one of our meetings so we could discuss a casual clothes day. We couldn't have one without his approval.
He didn't show...
My sister - who is also in the group - had gone outside to go to the restroom, she saw him standing near the steps near the classroom that the meetings take place. So she comes back inside and tells us. Then one of the teachers that is part of the group left to talk to him. The bell rang before we could find out his response. My friend who is also in the SSAGD and I were so pissed. Giving reasons like; 'Sexuality isn't something that you can't believe in, people identify as it. It's not like a ghost where some people believe in it and some don't. This is a real thing that is happening.' We were really pumped when we got to our next period. I think I was going off adrenaline. I talked to some of the girls in my class, telling them that they should come to the next meeting. One replied to me "But I'm not gay."

I don't care if your not 'gay', do you think that people of the LGBTQ+ community don't deserve support? Do you think that they aren't human? Because I got really annoyed at this girl. I didn't show it because we are not too close.
Also, I go to an all girls school. I would say that the majority identify as LGBTQ+. The minority identify as 'straight'.
Before every meeting - which are held at lunch time - the office makes an announcement over the system. It is just before the lunch bell rings, and every time the SSAGD is mentioned, because they don't just spell it out, they emphasise the same sex attracted part. So many people in just the two different forms that are in the same joint lesson laugh at that. Like do you have no respect?
