Falling Apart

  Stiles knew it. Had always known it really. 

Stiles knew it was coming. Was always going to come.

But Stiles was still surprised when Scott finally told him. He thought he had prepared himself for this hurt but he hadn't. Not really.

"Stiles- I think-" Scott started. 

Stiles knew it was coming.

"It's too dangerous"

A curl deep in Stiles' stomach.

"You're only human. It will be safer."

Stiles was useless.

"Maybe you should stay away from the pack a while?"

Stiles knew he hadn't told Allison this. Hadn't told Lydia this.

Of course.

"Sorry"

Lies. Scott was probably glad to get rid of him at last.

"It's for the best"

Stiles nods. The pack will be better off without him.

Stiles walks out through the front door.

He feels a bond snap.

Or is that just him?

  He gets halfway home before he has to pull over.

Tears sting at his eyes and he hates himself because he knows it is for the best.

He gets out his car.

Knows he shouldn't.

There's a dangerous pack in Beacon Hills.

Stiles gets out anyway.

Walks into the woods.

"Scott" 

Scott spins around at the sound of Lydia's voice.

"What did you do?" asks Isaac.

 Scott knows why Isaac had asked him that. He can smell the cocktail of pain, hurt and worst of all acceptance.

  "I thought he'd know why" said Scott. And he did. Allison had known.

"I don't think he did" says Lydia softly, glancing at the abandoned red hoodie on the back of a chair.

  They had found out why the pack was in Beacon Hills. They wanted a sacrifice. They worshiped a bloodthirsty god and were more like a cult.

   They needed a human. And they had a grudge against the pack.

   Scott knew it would be safer if they didn't think Stiles was in the pack. He hadn't expected the hurt emotions radiating off of Stiles. Or the way he had left before Scott could explain when he had came to the conclusion that Stiles didn't know.

  Scott's phone rang.

  "Hello?"

Danny's voice came through. "Is there a reason why Stiles' jeep is abandoned on the side of a road?"
