"According to the myth, gods tie an invisible red string around the little finger of people who are destined to be soulmates and will one day marry each other. It can get twisted and knotted...but it will never be broken."

Part 1

"I don't believe in gods. Nor any of this silly reassurance. Elizabeth, you're my one true love and the only one I'm marrying. You know I wouldn't dare replace you." The voice of the speaker looked down upon a dainty woman. Her blonde, shiny hair was tied into a neat braid that rested lazily upon her shoulder, as well as complimenting her crystal blue eyes. "Promise?" "Yes my dear." A wide smile made it's way onto her face. In all honesty, the dull background of the tiny village, miles away from any other, she was the brightest thing there. Though her attire consisted of a simple white dress with a corset loosely tied over it, she was indeed the prettiest thing there. It was as if she belonged to royalty. Her gaze was looking upon a dirt covered man. He was around her age, probably the same age. Though, he looked plain, she had chosen to spend the rest of her life with him.

A simple shade of brown hair that seemed about 3.5 centimeters in length rested upon his head. His facial features consisted of a evenly shaped jawline, milky brown eyes, and an almost always calm expression. This kind looking man was Luce. The girl before him was Elizabeth. Both of them are at the age of 18 in this dull setting. Luce wiped his hands off on his apron. "Now, my lovely fiance, I recommend you get away from the dirt ridden work place and head towards the comfort of your home." Luce was considerate of her daintiness and beauty, he refused to let her be ruined. Although, his knowledge of her true self was obvious, she was hiding things. He simply ignored it, every woman had their secrets and he'd find out eventually if she wished to tell him.

"You're too kind, my love. I will take your advice and head home. Will I see you later at the tree?" "Ah, not tonight. Bruce has me working late." "Oh." A sullen expression came upon her face. Luce frowned. "My dear, do not fret. I will see if I can come home early." Elizabeth shook her head. "No, no. You must work to support yourself, and help for the future that will come ahead for us."  Luce nodded. Elizabeth walked away and Luce looked up at the sky. He truly thought he was luckiest man in the world to have someone like Elizabeth Deering at his side. Luce wouldn't change it for the world.

Part 2: In another place, miles away from Luce's position.

"You just should've paid your bet instead of gambling. Honestly, this would make my job a lot easier if more people had common sense." The voice belonging to a tall male with dark green eyes and black hair. Clutched tightly in his grip was the hair of a sickly looking man. The man had barely any hair at that, and was glistening with sweat. All around him, his house was in ruins from him running and pushing things in the way of his pursuer. Unluckily, he had been caught. The male holding his hair tightly brought out a knife with his free hand. "Honestly. Everyone is the god forbidden city is idiotic. Pay your debts, don't gamble, and I might no be paid to kill you." He slit the mans throat nonchalantly and dropped him.

This male was known as Rowan. He was a bounty hunter, and the cruelest out there. You'd think a man smiling while killing someone was cruel, but not entirely. This man killed without an expression. He had not a single care for human life. Anyone he actually liked, was because he respected them for their actions, not for who they were. He didn't care if they died.

Rowan stood up and wiped off his blade on the dead body of the man before him's shirt. The blade was twirled in his hand before put away. Rowan left the home of the man and walked out onto the streets of the capital city. "Hiemdale." He uttered the name of the city. Rowan walked towards a cloaked figure he saw in the shadows, knowing immediately he was needed. "Well, what do you need?" The hood of the cloak was brought down by two dainty hands. "Listen here, bounty hunter, my fiance is coming to the city in a couple of days to purchase a ring. I need you to go to the Campbell hotel establishment and kill him in room 203. That's his room." Rowan looked down at the female. She had golden blonde hair that was tied into a braid and rested gently on her shoulder. Crystal blue eyes stared into his dark ones.

"Might I catch the name of my employer?" A smirk appeared on the female's face. "Certainly." "What is it?" Her expression turned into that of a dark one. "Elizabeth Deering." Rowan nodded. "Your fiance's name?" "Luce Gillian." Rowan pulled out a flask and took a sip from it. "Really, you should just leave the guy, do you really want him dead?" "His bloodline is worth it." Rowan raised a curious eyebrow. "What's his bloodline worth to you?" "Nothing important, only the fact that the one he loves the most is destined to be ruler. If I am to rule, he can not be by me side. I do not love him." Rowan chuckled. "Honey, I'll kill him because I'm getting paid, but I refuse to believe your ruler bullshit. I'll do it."
