"Eek! Guess what! Hunter just asked me out on a date!!! And then we kissed and it was amazing and beautiful and I just want to keep doing it!!" Shelley squealed in happiness.
Megan and I were casually waiting for Shelley at our usual coffee shop. Just like we usually do. And everything was usual. Well until Shelley came bursting into the coffee shop like an 11 year old girl listening to One Direction for the first time. That was not usual at all. Shelley doesn't squeal even when she's super happy, that's Megan's job.
"Woah, hold up sister. You are not me. I'm the squealer in this squad," Megan points out.
Shelley just rolls her eyes and takes a seat beside me before she continues. "Well, can you blame me? Hunter finally kissed me! Do you know how long I've wanted him to do that? Ever since I laid eyes on him!"
As weird as Shelley was acting, I was very happy for her. Hunter and her deserve to be happy with each other. And unlike some other people, they'll probably last forever and get married, have kids, and die together. Too bad that's not you Willa.
Stop stupid thoughts. This is the time to congratulate Shelley, not think about your relationship. Actually, you're not supposed to think about that at all!
Putting my thoughts aside, I focus back on Shelley. "I'm so happy for you Shelley! When's your date?" I smile warmly at her.
Shelley returns the smile and tells us all the details. "Well, it's in two days and I'm freaking out! Like what should I wear, say, and do? Am I supposed to be ready on time or fashionably late? I want it to be perfect."
"Just calm down honey. I'm sure it'll be perfect. After all, Hunter has finally gotten his dream girl and he won't care about small details like that. As long as you're with him, that's all he'll care about." Megan reassures Shelley. "But you have to be fashionably late, it'll definitely keep him on his toes and make it that much better," Megan adds on with a wink.
Shelley and I both laugh at that. I love the two of them so much. They can make me laugh whenever I really need to. I don't need Brett or anyone else.
"Willa? Where'd you go?" Shelley waves her hand in my face.
"I love you guys so much," I reply with a big smile on my face.
Shelley and Megan look a bit taken aback but return the smile and hug me nonetheless.
"Aww Willa we love you too!" They both claim at the same time.
"Let's go out today Willa. You haven't partied in forever," Megan suggests.
"Sure, I'd really like that," I reply.
Shelley and Megan just kinda stare at me for a second. I guess they weren't expecting me to say that because they don't know what happened last night.
"Guys I need to tell you something," I add on.
Megan dramatically replies, "Are you pregnant?"
I roll my eyes, "No Megan I'm not. But last night somehow I ended up in front of Brett's apartment building and I saw him with another girl. So, when I got back home I decided that I'm going to cut Brett completely out of my life and start over."
"We're completely okay with whatever you decide Willa. We have your back no matter what," Shelley sincerely replies and Megan nods along with her.
Her warm words just put a smile on my face and I'm even more sure than ever that Brett can go to hell for all I care.
"Okay ladies let's get going, we have to get ready to party!" Megan says a bit too loudly. A few people turn their heads to look at us. Megan's cheeks turn red and we all speed walk out of there.
