Practice went fine, Gavin did get his balls busted for being a little slow today which is expected considering the ragger that happened last night. He could still imagine walking into the party, drinking and Haley getting all over him, he remembered taking her to the bedroom telling her he was sorry for being an asshole and then becoming the biggest of assholes this morning, wow he thought to himself I suck.
"Bro," A loud a firm voice said snapping Gavin out of his memory. He looked up and it was another of his best friends Dean giving him a confused look.
"You okay? You were completely spaced out for a second."
"I'm fine just trying to piece together last night that's all you know we go hard on those pre-season raggers." Gavin said with a wink. Barrett, their other friend wasn't much of a partier rather the the "mom" of the group. Gavin and Dean on the other hand were absolutely wild they could do anything/anyone they wanted and got away with it. The golden boys they called themselves, but in reality they were just hiding from their real life problems. Barrett had a good family, parents still married, siblings, and a meal that was always ready when he got home. Gavin and Dean on the other hand had deadbeat parents. It's not that their parents didn't love them it's just that they didn't care enough. They had careers that they focused on so Gavin could really come and go as he pleased no one ever called or sent a text he was on his own, and he knew that.
"Wish I knew I actually left early last night." Dean said trying to tell Gavin something that had recently popped up in his life.
"Oh really and why is that?" Gavin said with a devil like smile, imagining Dean running off and hooking up with multiple girls in one night and never talking about it because he was "too drunk to remember."
"I well uh... am seeing someone." Dean said just talking about it brought a huge smile to his face just looking at him Gavin knew he was deeply into someone.
Before Gavin could ask who or congratulate him Barrett walked over sweating from the long practice.
"Man what a practice I-" Barrett cut himself off as he could see the two other boys were clearly midst conversation. "Did I interrupt?" He asked looking confused.
"Not really I was just telling Gavin I met someone." Dean said giving a Barrett a hinting look.
"Wow man that's great." Barrett said punching Dean on arm, Gavin saw a look of sadness is Dean's eyes but decided to ignore it since he had his own problems to worry about.
Dean turned his head and saw Gavin completely spaced out...again. Dean loved Gavin he really did but Gavin could be a crappy friend he didn't really care about anyone unless it made Gavin's life better and that sucked sometimes, actually it sucked a lot of the time.
"Well look Gavin not caring about anyone's news again no wonder you don't have a girlfriend." Dean said egging him on so he would finally become interested in the conversation.
"Screw you man, I've had plenty of offers but I'd like to say I have higher standards then the girls just throwing themselves at me." Gavin said with a smirk. He knew he was a hot piece any girl would love to date him based off physical appearance. Gavin was 6'4 have the dreamiest dirty blond hair and bright green eyes it was no surprise every girl in school chased him, but Gavin didn't like the chase he wanted to chase he just wanted a girl with more....depth.
"See right there exactly my point I'm not saying you should settle but at least try to date someone I bet you couldn't keep a girlfriend for 3 months without getting bored." Dean said continuing to annoy his friend.
"Screw you man I so could!" Gavin said beginning to feel heated and in the moment Gavin spat out the first thing that came to his head.
"In fact I'm talking to someone right now and it's going great." As soon as Gavin said that he instantly knew he was getting into a situation he wouldn't be able to get out of.
"It must be going SO great that you slept with Haley last night huh?" Barrett said not believe Gavin McNab could ever handle a relationship.
"Shut up we're just talking we haven't kissed or anything I want to take things slow with her she's different." Gavin said rushing in his mind to think of some girl he could B.S. he friends into thinking they were "talking."
"Oh really and who the amazing girl huh?" Dean asked.
"Zoey, Zoey Parker." Gavin winced knowing his friends wouldn't believe him.
"Zoey Parker you mean the feminist who doesn't need a man and is focused on grades Zoey Parker? Yeah right man." Both boys started laughing at the possibility of the feat.
"Hey don't about her like that I'm starting to like her, she can't know about last night I want to see what will happen between us." Gavin said trying to put every acting skill he has into this performance.
"Oh really? Well why don't we make a little bet? I bet you and Zoey won't last 3 months and if you do I'll give you my works pay for 3 months." Barrett said with smile.
Gavin who was totally broke and knew he had already gotten himself into a hole couldn't help what was coming out of his mouth next.
"You got a deal my friend easiest 3 months of my life." Gavin smiled but on the inside cursing at himself for agreeing to do this stupid bet.
"Well I guess I'll see you and Zoey round." Dean winked as him and Barrett walked away laughing at the deal they made.
3 months how hard could that be Gavin thought to himself. Then he realized the hardest part was yet to come, asking Zoey
