My name is Paige Conner, I am a ballet dancer. Here is my brief biography, at the age of 4, I started taking ballet, at the age of 6, I got my first dance metal, around 12, I earned a trophy. So you can imagine how passionate I am about this.
Ballet is my life. I can't imagine my life without it. Of course God remains first. I make sure I read his word every morning while I drink my tea or coffee.
So these are my morning's, I wake, brush my teeth, eat, read my Bible, pack my duffle bag with a bunch of ballet stuff, grab my bookbag and go to school. If you call that a tight schedule, imagine what it's like when we have upcoming regionals and Contests. Most days I forget to eat.
Living on a ranch, my parents have been gracious enough to allow me do ballet most of my time. After all, that's why I have brothers, right? My oldest brother is in college, so he's also out of the picture, while Tim and Abner, who are both 16 do most of the work, while Luke who is 19 is...just a mascot. Of course he helps dad with the new filly's we get every year, but he loves sleeping just as much. I have a younger sister who is 12, she usually helps mom around the house.
But given all these wonderful blessings, I held onto ballet. Just gliding across the floor sends adrenaline running through my veins. When girls talk to a ballet dancer, the first thing they ask is, is it weird to dance with a guy? Well, if you're boy crazy, maybe, but most of the time we have no time to talk about our likes and dislikes. So the answer is no. Once you start dancing, you just kinda forget about it.
But the day I was forced to put my ballet future on shut down was probably the most disconcerting day of my life. After I was emitted to the hospital, I was expected to be dead, or much less, in a coma. During my painful recovery, I was too blind to see that this was probably another one of God's many blessings. Without the accident, I wouldn't have meet Cody, and with being forced to stay out of ballet, I would never have challenged myself to get back on my feet.
Sorry this was a choppy chapter. It should be getting interesting :)
