  "You what? You had a mate?" I ask shocked.

  "Indeed" she says smiling sadly.

  "Why didn't you ever tell me this?" I ask on the verge of tears.

  "Don't cry. It was simple, I am a human he was not. Your father was a werewolf" she says calmly.

  "That's impossible I would have shifted!" I cry out.

  "The gene wasn't and isn't in you. Yes you are half werewolf but you can't shift. We made sure you would have a normal life. That was until your father was killed by hunters. He was loved by his pack and they took us in protected us, allowed me to be the pack's doctor." She explained.

  "Wait the gene just skipped over me? So I have no chance of ever meeting my wolf?" I ask heartbroken.

  I walk out of the house Pipette happily following. I walk up the road that I found that leads me to the woods. I walk into the woods. Soon after wandering around with Pipette hanging out with me Aaron finds us. He pulls me into his arms and the sparks erupt all over my body.

  "Melody" he mutters.

  "I'm half werewolf" I meekly whisper.

  "That's amazing! That means you can shift!" He says.

  I shake my head no. He looks confused, and takes my hand. He leads me back to the pack house smiling. I walk inside following him like a zombie. How can I be happy when I will never be able to shift?

  "Melody. I need to see something okay." He states softly.

  He leads me to a giant library, where he goes to a specific section. He pulls out a book that says half breeds. That's not offense at all. I scowl and turn away as he flips through.

  "Melody!" He says excited.

  "What?" I ask dejected.

  "You can shift!" He says even louder.

  "I can what?!" I ask.

  "You can shift! Or you should be able to" he says.

  "My mom said I couldn't why would she lie?" I ask.

  "Im not sure love." He trails off.

  "Look in your book maybe it says something!"

  "Okay give me a second." He says.

  He turns around. After reading for a while he turns looking sad. Oh no.

  "It says the only way to gold back a wolf is to be controlled by a witch" he states.

  "But I don't know any witches..." I say trailing off.

  "Let's go ask your mom?" He asks.

  I nod and he guides me outside. We reach the car, and climb inside. I smile at him as he drives away from the pack house. We finally arrive at my house and I sprint inside.

  "Melody you're back!" She says excited.

  "Who's the witch holding back my wolf?" I snap.

  "What?" She feigns surprise.

  "Tell me now!" I snap.

  "Okay okay" she says surrendering.

  "Okay who is it?" I ask.

  "Me..." She says looking down.
