I was fully convinced that my high school was one of the seven gates of hell.
I really just couldn't wait to graduate! I mean, I was smart enough to graduate in July, but the stupid school wasn't going to allow me to.
My guidance counsler's exact words were, "You're such a bright girl, Hannah, but you haven't expanded your social horizions. You don't have any friends, any conversations with classmates, or membership to any of the school sports and clubs departments..."
It was the most absurd statement I'd ever heard, who needed to expand socially, anyway?! Highschool was one big joke, no student or staff member could convince me otherwise. I came to highschool purely to get the education I needed for a college scholarship. Plus, I didn't even like being here. I didn't have any friends and I didn't care about anyone!
I wish my dad was stable enough that I could be home-schooled, but he didn't have the money or time for that. He only went to work when he felt like it, and his store was starting to go under. I just needed to become valdictorian of my class so I could get the scholarship I needed.
I rummaged through my locker to get the books I needed for studying. Midterms was next week, and I needed to make sure that I was going to ace every single test. I just had to try and make sure I didn't upset dad, so he would leave me alone and let me study. My bagpack was now heavy with textbooks and notes, and I was ready to go take my seat on the bus.
"Hey, Hannah!" a voice called out from down the hall.
I closed my locker door and snapped my head in the direction of whoever had called my name. My jaw dropped slightly when I saw who it was, and I almost had to pinch myself and see if I was dreaming. It was Trent, Trent Fisher.
The Trent Fisher, boy of every girl in this dreary highschool's dream! Walking over to me, plain-jane Hannah Lockwood, who no one ever noticed! He began to walk over to me, his perfect mouth stretched into a smile. My eyes drank in his tall tan image; his hair was a sexy blond mess, bright green eyes sparkled as he looked at me. Me!
As he got closer, he waved. I smiled, and as I lifted my hand to wave back, I felt someone push past me; sending me crashing into my locker's door.
"Babe!" Anna Winters cried, and jumped into Trent's strong, tanned arms. I straightened myself up, blushing from the whole ordeal. I mentally smacked myself, Trent had been calling Anna, not me! Our names were so similar that I couldn't tell the difference from across the hallway, but I still felt like a total idiot.
I clutched my shoulder, it had hit the locker pretty hard. "Anna, you knocked this girl into her locker! Are you okay?" Trent said looked at me, a bit worried, but still had his arms wrapped around Anna. I was surprised he noticed, but I didn't say anything.
Anna peeked over her shoulder, and looked at me. "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't even see you there." She half-smiled.
Of course she didn't see me, no one notices me. "I.. I'm fine." I stuttered.
"I've never seen you before, you must be new. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression, I just space out some times, y'know?" She said innocently, smiling at me.
I shot her a look, did she seriously think I was a new girl?! "Uh, no, actually I've been here since freshman year. I was acutally your lab partner in biology once... you're Anna, right?" I said innocently, playing dumb. I didn't want to make myself look even more pathetic, if that was even possible.
She looked at me, shocked. "Oh! I think I remember you... I'm so sorry... uh.. um.." She searched her memory for my name.
