[ 3 years ago : Hannah's P.O.V ]

I was sitting in my last class, history. The teacher droned on, but I ignored him, staring at the clock without blinking. The second hand clicked closer and closer to the twelve, and I was about to explode with anticipation. Some kids in the back of the classroom started to count down. "five... four... three... two... one!"

The final bell rung, and everyone got out of their classroom seats and ran. I grabbed my bookbag  and ran out the classroom door, and saw my best friend since 6th grade, Emily Lancaster, waiting for me. I squealed and jumped into her arms. "It's summer time!" She screeched, jumping up and down. I just laughed.

"Emily, forget summer, we're done with middleschool! We're going to be in high school in two months!" I cried, and let go of her. Kids were swarming down the hallway, rushing to get outside. Emily and I began to follow them to the front doors, ready to begin our new lives.

Emily turned to me, suddenly."That reminds me, are you going to Trent's party tonight? I know he invited you personally." She asked me, winking at the mention of his personal invite.

Trent was the most beautiful boy in the eigth grade, without a doubt. For a thirteen year old, he was pretty tall, and was even starting to get a six pack. He had forest green eyes, long shaggy blonde hair, and a tan all year long. People said his family spent each summer in Hawaii, and Trent was one of the top surfers there. I certainly could believe that!

"Uh, I'm not sure. I have to ask my mom." I said, groaning at the though of Mom. She was so annoying, always moping around for no reason! My dad was always so nice to me and let me do what I want, but my mom usually made me stay home. She acted like I was a bad kid. I got all A's and never got in trouble at school! I was friends with all the popular kids and was nice to everyone; what more could someone want in their child?!

Emily gave me a puppy dog pout. "Your mom is too protective, you just have to go! Trent will think you don't like him if you skip this!" She whined, and I sighed. It was true, I mean this was going to be the biggest party of the year, to celebrate going to highschool. People were even saying that kids that were already in highschool wanted to go! If I missed this, it'd make me look really lame.

A little while later, I finally was almost home. Emily and I lived next door, so we sat to each other on the bus, and were gossiping about the party. "I heard that Trent has a lot of friends in high school, I bet he could introduce me to a cute older guy!" Emily said, and swooned.

I laughed and nudged her side. "Hey, being older is kind of overrated. I wouldn't mind a guy my age." I stated with a small smile, and Emily grinned widely.

"That's because Trent is the same age as you, I swear you're like in love with him. Tonight, you guys will fall for eachother and in a few years you'll get married!" She cried, throwing her hands dramatically in the air. I giggled nervously, thinking about the party. I had to go, mom would let me... right?

The bus dropped us off, and Emily and I parted at the thick bushes that seperated our front lawns. "Come by early so we can get ready togther, kay? My dad said he'd drop us off." Emily said, then walked towards her house. "Okay, see ya Em!" I called out after her while walking over to my house.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw my dad standing by the stairs shuffling through mail envelopes. "Daddy!" I cried and jumped into his arms. I may be thirteen years old, but I was still my daddy's little girl.

"Hey angel! How was your last day of school?" He asked, wearing the warm smile I loved.

"It was cool. But I'm so glad it's over!" I said excitedly. It was true, I had been counting down to this day for months!
