I sling my backpack over my shoulder as I stand up from the island Seating. Grabbing my bowl, which contains the remains of my lucky charms, I put it into the sink so it could be washed later.

As I'm slipping on my Adidas the doorbell rings, echoing throughout the house.

My eyebrows scrunch in confusion, as to why someone would be ringing my doorbell at 6:00 in the morning. I push that thought to the side and walk up to the double doors turning one of the silver knobs to the right, making a click sound, noting me the door is open. I creek the door ajar, where I am met with an all too annoyingly familiar face.

"What do you want." I sigh aloud.

Shawn flashes me a smile in return.

"Now is that anyway to treat the gentlemen driving you to school?" He says swinging his keys around his index finger.

I laugh out loud, taking him off guard a bit. .

"What's so funny?" He asks confused as to why I'm laughing.

I clear my throat to get back on track.

"First off," I start. "You are definitely not a gentleman, far from it." I state

"How do you know that?" He asks cutting me off. "Maybe if you give me a chance you'll see just how much a gentleman I am." He winks at me.

I mentally gag.

"Here's some advice Mendes, a gentleman doesn't hook up with a girl, then an hour later seduce the other girl next door." I finish.

A smirk grows on his face. He places  his arm on the door above my head, and leans down so his face is oh so close to mine.

"So, I seduced you?" He asks amused by the affect he has on me.

I grab his arm above my head and push it to his chest away from me.

"Anyways, secondly, you're not driving me to school." I say ignoring his question.

"Yes I am, I offered your mom, she thought it was a great idea." He says.

"Well I think it's a terrible idea." I fight back. "I can just drive myself, thank you very much."  I say beginning to turn back into my house, when a hand grabs my arm, stopping me.

"Eh, eh, eh." He starts so I'm facing him again. "I promised your mom to take care of you, and I stick by my promises." He clarifies. "So," he says closing the door behind me and grabbing my hand. "stop being stubborn I'm taking you."

"No." I say sternly.

"Yes." He says back.

"No." I pull my hand back.

"Yes." He says grabbing my hand again.

"No."

"Yes."

"No! It's final you're not taking me to school!"

I sit in the passenger seat staring out the window trying anything to avoid conversation, with the cocky teenage boy next to me. The only sound is the faint voice of John Mayer coming from the CD in the car. Shawn starts to hum along to the melody, as he taps his fingers to the beat, on the steering wheel. As I look around his car, it shows me a lot about him, more than I thought.

In the back seat of his black Jeep Is football equipment, by the green grass stains and the splatters of mud on the white pads and burgundy jersey, I have a hunch it's most likely not washed. Next to that is a spotless, fancy black leather, guitar case with a golden rim around it. It's like the objects represent two completely different personalities next to each other. It surprised me I would never take him as the music type. I always thought of him as a cocky jock, that's the only side I've seen of him, maybe there's more to him...maybe.

I let my curiosity take over as I open the glove compartment, wanting to discover more about him, I immediately regret it as soon as condoms spill out.

Scratch that he's just hormonal teen.

I see Shawn glance at the commotion, as he tries to stifle a laugh. I quickly grab the condoms off the floor and shove them back into the glove compartment closing it shut.

I clear my throat to try to make it less awkward.

Shawn makes a turn pulling into the school parking lot, and finding a parking spot. He pulls the key out of the ignition, while I open the door jumping out the car closing the door behind me. I hear another car door close as I start walking towards the school, an arm slings over my shoulder unexpectedly. I look to my side to see Shawn looking forward backpack slung on his shoulder, guitar case in his other hand.

"Ok what are you doing?" I ask referring to his arm around my shoulder.

I look around to see students in the parking lot staring.

"Me?" He questions glancing down at me for a second with a small smile before looking forward.

"Yes you." I clarify feeling uncomfortable under the eyes of others.

A couple guys past Shawn as they exchange nods and dap (it's that handshake guys do)

"Shawn, ready for the game Friday?" Some guy around our age starts.

"Ian I'm so pumped man!" Shawn expresses With a grin on his face.

Ian's nods in agreement, then his eyes divert to me.

"Who's the girl?" Ian nudges Shawn.

Shawn looks down at me and smiles

"This is Kendall Collins." He says. "My new neighbor." He finishes. "Kendall this is Ian, my best friend. "

Me and Ian exchange hellos and smiles.

"You better hope Lauren doesn't see this." Ian whispers to Shawn, but I was able to here. Who's Lauren. Is all I can wonder as Shawn answers him back.

"Too late." Shawn sighs nodding forward towards a small group of 5 girls.

All of them are stunning, they can catch the eyes of anyone. But that isn't what had me worried, it's the fact that they are all staring at me with daggers especially the one in the middle of the group. She looks familiar, really familiar. I scan over her appearance trying to figure it out. Long dark wavy hair that falls perfectly just above the small of her back. Her black leggings outlining her curves, and her white shirt and army green jacket show off her perfectly tanned skin. There's something about her that makes her so familia- oh shit!

My eyes widen as I realize who she is, who Lauren is. Lauren's the girl Shawn hooked up with yesterday.
