Summer...

As I followed Ryder into the classroom, I realized the jealous stared from females hadn't stopped.

"Why does every girl here look like they want to kill me?" I asked Ryder and he laughed lightly.

"Because they hate when there's someone prettier than them around here." Ryder answered casually.

I blushed and looked down, practically hearing Ryder smirk.

"Glad I have that effect on you." He chuckled.

"I-" I tried to say but my words got choked in my throat. So I remained silent, making his smirk wider.

When I went to take a seat, Ryder followed me like a lost puppy until I sat down at one of the tables, Ryder instantly sitting next to me.

"Are you just gonna follow me around all day?" I asked, a tiny hint of frustration in my voice.

"Yup!" He replied, popping the 'p'. "Just to make sure no one touches or talks to what's mine."

"Excuse me!?" I asked, raising my voice slightly. "What's yours?"

Ryder was about to reply but that's when the teacher walked in through the door.

He then kept his iconic smirk and leaned back.

"Good morning class- ah! I see a new face. You must be Summer Hillston. Why don't you come up here and introduce yourself sweetheart." The teacher smiled sweetly as she spoke.

I silently grinder my teeth together. I hated large group confrontations.

I hesitantly stood up and walked to the front of the room. When I turned around, about 20 pairs of eyes were staring at me.

"Um. I'm Summer. I moved here from New York. Um, I live with my dad and my sister. I'm 17, I turn 18 next week. And yah." I explained.

"Class, feel free to ask questions!" The teacher stated as she was checking something on her computer.

"What's that deal with the necklace?" A girl asked from the back of the classroom. My hand reflexively reached for my necklace and felt it between my fingers.

"My mom was a music teacher and she gave me this necklace when I was 2. She died 3 years ago." I said in a quiet voice, holding back the tears.

"Are you single?" A brown haired boy asked from the right.

I felt my cheeks heat up as I nervously twiddled with my necklace.

"Yah." I replied. I saw Ryder glaring holes into the brunettes head but he didn't seem to notice or he didn't care.

"Are you a virgin?" Another boy asked from the back of the classroom.

I nervously bit my lip and I'm sure I looked like a tomato up here.

I simply nodded and I saw most of the guys smirk. Ryder didn't even move a muscle, except to silently glare at the smirking horny boys. What's his deal?

"Please ignore those horny dogs!" A girl said from the middle of the desk rows.

She had ginger hair that was separated into 2 ditch braids. She had on some makeup and looked like she had designer clothes on.

I just smiled at her and awkwardly rocked back in to my heels.

"Has Ryder claimed you yet?" A cute boy with dirty blonde hair asked with a snort. My eyes widened.

My mind instantly drifted back to when Ryder had called me his.

Ryder's eyes were burning with anger and he looked like he was ready to kill someone.
