The geiger counter seemed to click at a high rate and you could feel the poisoning beginning to set in as the green skies around you cracked with light.

"Kid, we need to get you out of this storm. This isn't as dangerous to me as it is to you," Nick called, running to your side, finally catching up as you took in deep breaths.

You had encountered a whole lot of radscorpions and you were a little low on health, so you had decided to run away and find a spot to rest and take some stimpaks so that you could turn back and fight them. Right now they were out of your sight, but your pipboy still read caution.

You glanced around and looked for somewhere to go until Nick pointed to a nearby abandoned building, the only one that appeared to be in sight here in the middle of the glowing sea. It was a gas station that was pounded half way into the ground, probably from the blast, but it still appeared to be intact.

"Let's go in there and wait for awhile, I think it'd do you some good," Nick said.

You nodded and lead him into the building, cautiously opening the door. Inside there was of course an enemy, something you weren't prepared for as you entered.

You went straight into vats and targeted the albino radscorpion, hoping that perhaps you could kill it with a critical hit. You aimed, you hit, and then a miracle, the mysterious stranger appeared and saved your life.

"Oh my god, Nick! We're so lucky!" You exclaimed.

"That was close, are you ok?" He asked you.

You leaned up against the wall and slid down it, then nodded as you injected a stimpak into your arm, feeling relief as the healing effects flooded through your veins. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"Your rads are pretty high. I think we should wait it out here until we can go back to Sanctuary and get you through a decontamination arch. Until then, we should think of a way to escape this place and get you there safely."

"That's a good idea. I think I'll just lay down for a bit... I'm pretty beat after running away from those nasty scorpions."

"Alright kid I'll be here. Sleep well."

You got up from the floor and set up a place to sleep before curling up and passing out, the dull roar of thunder accompanying you into oblivion.
