Undersized Doorway

20 1 2

With the pen spinning in my hand
I watch you silently walk out of the room
Suitcase in hand and tears on your face
You think that I'm heartless
That I just don't understand
But in reality
I'm looking back on all the memories we
Had in that undersized doorway all of the
Times we hit our heads and laughed and kissed each other
In a futile attempt to make each other
Feel better but
Now more than ever I could
Use one of your kisses
I look back to the first day when we bought the house
The images slamming as my migraine stings.
On the 13th month
I asked you to stay
With me forever through the rest of time
Our lives started together in this
Undersized doorway and
This is where our life together
Ends.
