//JADE'S POV//

I lazily roll out of bed after being woken up by a repetitive banging on the door to my flat, i pull a baggy basketball top over my head to cover my naked body as i traipse tiredly over to the find out who is banging on my door and disturbing me from my sleep at this hour.

"alright, alright i'm coming" i shout at the persistent knocker.

I open the door to find Madeline standing there with her hair pulled of her face into a sleek ponytail, her face free of makeup and wearing her leggings and a baggy jumper. Despite her lack of effort, she still looks beautiful. I scowl at her.

"Why are you banging on my door at this time?" I practially shout

She smiles "Oh, honey, it's nearly 1pm. It's not early"

"Well, what are you doing here anyway? It's not that i don't love you, it's just i wasn't expecting you and i had the most long and stressful day yesterday" I sigh. I move to the side and open the door wider so she can step in, she steps in as i shut the door she turns back around to face me.

"I thought we could get ready for this party together, i'm so excited, Luke's going to be there and i need your help to make me look amazing." she frowns before she carrys on speaking."What happened yesterday, honey?"

"It's not even one yet Mad, and the party doesn't start until 8, we don't need 7 hours to get ready. Sit on the sofa and i'll make us both a cuppa and then i will tell you about the lovely events that occured yesterday" i said in a sarcastic manner.

Madeline turned round and sat on the sofa, instantly making herself comfortable as she scrolled through the music channels before selecting one that was on 4music and one of her favourite busted songs was being played. She immediately jumped up to her feet and starts jumping around the living room to my apartment belting out the lyrics of falling for you. I roll my eyes at her, sometimes you wouldn't think she wasn't almost 17, i can't help smirk at her immaturity.

I leave Mad to carry on with her dancing session and walk over to the small kitchen to the right of the apartment. I pull out two mugs and pour in the milk and place the tea bags in the milk, i fill the kettle and wait for the water to boil. Nothing made me hesitate to tell Madeline that i had to tell her about the day before, we tell each other everything i mean i've known this girl for all my teenage life and i trust her with everything, she's the only person who knows about what happened 3 years ago. Even the police don't know the whole story, i was only transferred to Littleton because it was the only place they could get me an apartment. The police reffered me to the social services as i told them the lie that i was homeless and got kicked out by my parents, thankfully they didn't even think to speak to my parents and they believed every bullshit lie i told them. I didn't want to relive the whole thing so i avoided the truth at all costs. And now here i am 3 years later, living the best possible life i can, taking into consideration what happened.

The kettle has finished boiling so I put the boiling water into each mug, I stir the tea so the milk, water and tea blend together I add a teaspoon of sugar into Madeline's cup.

By the time I walk into the front room again, Mads has finished with her busted dancing session and is plopped on the sofa whilst she smiles down at her phone. I place the two mugs onto the coffee table and sit next to my best friend.

"Is that a text from Luke, ey Mads" I question her.

"Yeah. We've been texting non stop since the start of this week, we even met up at Starbucks yesterday. I can't believe I fancy a boy already and we've only been at college for a week! I don't want to make a tit of myself and him not even like me" she takes a big intake of air after her little ramble.
