"You know these kids?" Allen asked.

"You bet I do. That's Jon."

"Pleasure to meet you, mate!"

"Raku."

"Make sure you don't hold back during our fight!"

"Tabitha."

"Hello."

"Samantha."

"I can teach you how to use magic if you want me to."

"Eve."

"I will gut you like a fish if you pull those half assed stunts during our fight."

"Rachel."

"Charmed, I'm sure."

"And that's Brittany!"

"I've seen you around school, you're in the Archery Club, right?" Brittany asked.

"Yeah, I haven't seen you before though," Allen said.

"I'm in the middle school division, that's why."

"So all of you are involved in this thing?" Allen asked. "That seems pretty cruel."

"Alas, that is life and the world we live in," Eve said. "I wasn't joking earlier you know. If you pull your punches with me, you WILL be destroyed. No exceptions."

"You're a real glass is half empty person, aren't you?" Allen asked. "Most little girls shouln't be saying things like that."

"Half empty, half full, it makes no difference eitehr way. And I'm not like most little girls," Eve said.

"I am," Samantha said. "I like boys, ponies, pink and serving others."

"Most girls don't like that either," Allen said.

"I know, but I'm half Fairy! If I do something for someone, they'll be obligated to do something for me in return," Samantha said brightly. "But the magic lessons are completely free! I won't charge you for those. You'll need to be able to use magic if you want to make it through the next battle. You'll probably end up fighting one of us or against someone more powerful."

"I guess I'll have to take you up on that then," Allen said with a sigh. "All I wanted was a normal life. Is that so much to ask for?"

"For those of us who are not normal, normality is but an impossibility," Tabitha said shocking everyone around her as that had been the longest thing they'd ever heard her say in living memory.

"I understand that, but that doesn't mean that we're not entitled to live our lives," Allen said. "We're half Human. We've got just as much of a right to walk around, have fun, make families and do all the things they can do. I know, I almost had one."

"Almost is not sufficient. Many are able to live among the Humans and not have to worry about being exposed. However, sooner or later their other half calls out to them. It is inevitable. You cannot resist what you are. The blood of an Elf flows through you. Magic is a part of you. These Games have taught us that which is why we will expose ourselves upon our return to our world," Tabitha said.

Everyone was shocked including Allen but more because of what the girl had said as opposed to her actually saying anything. "You're doing...WHAT?!"

"She's right," Eve said. "We have all made it through one hundred battles in this Game. All of us were like you at the beginning. We feared to use our powers for something so utterly meaningless."

"But one by one we slowly began to change," Jon said. "At first, because I went to a human school, I was afraid of my other half. But after being forced to rely on my powers here, I embraced them."
