'Who the heck?'
Conna gawked at the man on her doorstep. He was... a dude in a suit. The 'dude' had tiny spikes of mousy hair coloured like hers, and an equally spiky shirt collar and suit. Everything he wore was angular, from his sharp-edged rectangular sunglasses to his shiny black shoes. 'You can call me Coyote,' he spoke briskly, in a low pitch. Coyote appeared to be sizing her up, though it unsettled her slightly that she couldn't tell where he was looking.
'Ok, Coyote, hi,' Conna frowned. 'Now would you mind getting off my porch?' She intended to freeze time and push past the strange guy, but... it didn't work?
The man smirked knowingly. 'Naturally I wouldn't come here without knowing some things about you first, Conna.' He tapped his watch, showing her the tiny gadgets inside that were sparking with electricity. She was suddenly unsure. 'I know that you can freeze time like cold freezes water, and I know that you'd try to use it against me. So, I needed a few things to stop you from doing that.'
'Uh.... uhhhhhh.' she made some confused sounds, which wasn't what she wanted. Conna wanted to yell at him to go away, to stop being such a creep and hassling her, but just the sharpness of this guy... She could tell he was something important. And probably belonged to something even more important.
For the first time in her life, Conna was the one frozen.
