Tobias.
Cara has asked me to visit her. I hate being at the laboratories, but for her sake i agreed to see her. I sit in the waiting room and look through the newspaper. Due to the fact that Chicago is not experiment anymore, we get some informations from mass media. As a matter of fact, people shouldn't know everything happening in the Burea, but we can get at least part of information. One of the articles caught my attention.
Burea is expected to start new experiment and make it perfectly, so it won't crush as Chicago. Even though now Chicago is led well and there are no problems, the head of Bureau thinks that it can be temporary. We need pure people, pure future even if it costs a lot of time and hard work. Bureau is expected not ot make another experiment in Chicago. It is more likely to have another cities cleaned. Coming to Chicago, as long as everything is peaceful, it won't be touched. But if the things go wrong, Bureau will have to change the govermnet of the city.
"What are you reading?" I hear Cara's voice.
"They are going to make anither experiment," i say frenzied, showing her the paper.
"I know," she looks at the floor. "It feels like they are addicted with experiments,"
"So?"
"So what? What do you want to hear? They do already have a lot of experiments going on. We couldn't stop that. Yes, now they do not make people suffer, but... even if we erase them again, they will come back to it again and again," she says.
"Okay," i try to sound calm. "Why did you call me?"
"Umm... Christine asked. She said that something is wrong with you," she smiles.
"I am okay,"
"Sure?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Yes," she frowns.
"Okay. But i want to check you before you leave,"
"To check?" I sound surprised.
"Yes, Tobias, checked. I have to prove Chtistine that you are all right," i sight, but still follow her.
On the way upstairs i see a familiar shape. As we get closer i recognize him. Caleb.
"What is he doing here?!" He asks with fear in his eyes.
"Calm down. He just needs to be checked," Cara rolls her eyes.
"Keep him away from me!" Caleb demands. Oh, this dauch will never change.
"What if not?" I yell. His hands shake.
"Cara?" He whispers this time.
"Ooh.. guys, don't get on my nerves. Come, Tobias," she drags me away from him."Cara! Cara! Wait!" The female voice says.
"What is wrong, Sarah?" She turns to the nurse. Sarah, short brunette twenty years old girl looks terrified.
"She...," Sarah stammers. "Sshhee wookkee,"
"What?! How?!" Cara almost shouts. They both forgot about my presence here.
"Wait, who woke? You have a sleeping princess here?" I ask. Cara turns to me. I see fear in her eyes. She is afraid. Of what? Who woke? What the hell is happening in this place.
"Ttobias," she stammers a bit. "You nedd to leave. I'll call you to come here to be checked," she hardly breathes when she says this.
"Cara, what is wrong?"i don't like this all. Something inside me tells that not everything is clean here.
"I need to go,"she says and runs away.
