"Why do you look so shock like I'm just dropping the bomb on you? I whispered while slowly looking back at the boys.

"I mean, you couldn't wait till I got home?" Henry said.

"I didn't know if you would be having a "party", or gonna get shot." I said looking down.

"How did you find out?" He asked.

"Antonio got shot, I can only assume there are others, and the news nigga." I said while looking up at Vato. I wanted him too twist his face and tell me I'm tripping but he just looked past me. I am right.

"You don't have to be worried about me ." He said.

"Why?" I asked.

"You did ignore me for like four days after we fucked, so don't worry about me." He said coldly.

"I needed time to figure this out." I said waving my hand in a circular motion.

"What is this, this, you are referring to?" Henry asked.

I rolled my eyes.

"This, us, you, the life inside me, I'm eventually gonna have a physical child in my hand and hopefully so are you." I whispered.

"Hopefully?" He asked.

"Are you gonna be around?" I asked worriedly.

Vato takes his hands and cups my face and smiles.

"Mami, I live next door and you are carrying my child, I'm staying." He said while pulling me in for a hug.

"What time you coming home?" I asked.

"I'll be home in the next hour. Imma give you some money for a cab." Henry said still holding me close. He pulls out a twenty and hands it to me.

"Thank you, I'll give you the change tomorrow." I told him.

Henry laughed and scoffed.

"What?" I asked.

"We are neighbors, and I don't want the change, keep it. We will talk when we get home?" Henry asked while looking back at his friends.

I shook my head and bit my lip. Henry kissed my forehead and walked away.

I watched as Henry and his friends sped off in their cars. I'm assuming Henry called the cab, considering I don't have a phone; I lost it. In less than seven mintues a cab pulled up in front of me. The cab driver pulled down its window to reveal-

"Eli!" I exclaimed.
