(For kevinsteennut Happy Birthday, sugarplum)
"Have I told you how absolutely ravishing you look in your dress?"
(Note: this not kevinsteennut )
"'Ravishing'? I was expecting... 'Phenomenal'."
Dinner with your handsome hubby was something that you honestly never thought would happen. With him constantly on the road for work, you saw him a little less than 100 days a year.
You respected his love for the industry, but still wished he could be home more often.
AJ brought your left hand to his lips. "Well, my sweet Amy, you look absolutely phenomenal in that dress."
"I'm so happy you're off work. The kids have been going crazy wondering when their daddy is coming back home."
Eleven year old Ajay and nine year old Amanda were the apples of your eyes. They were raised to know their manners before they knew how to walk. You both loved them with every fiber of your beings, and in turn they loved you.
They understood their father's line of work, and although they were not happy that he would be away most of the time, they respected his choice of career.
"And you haven't missed me?"
You smirked. "I have. I go crazy wondering when my husband will come home so we can spend quality time together. Both in and outside the bedroom."
AJ flashed his signature grin. "I'm gonna be honest," he whispered, "I've been missing some quality time with you as well. Being away from you is a nightmare. It's hard being on the road, miles and miles away."
"It comes with the job, baby," you whispered back, "you and I know that. There's not much we can do about it."
"Wish there was something we could do."
You sighed. "Let's drop this conversation and talk about something else."
"Like what?"
"Like... do you remember that strapless, black lace bustier you bought me for birthday last year?
"How can I forget?" He laughed. "Why do you ask?"
You bit your lip. "Well... how would you react if I told you... that I was wearing it right now?"
"You... you're what?"
Furrowing your brows, you laughed awkwardly. "Uh... I'm wearing the-"
"I-I heard you, Amy, I just... don't believe you."
"Should I prove it?"
A grin slowly crept onto his face. "Sure, I'll clean up the dishes and meet you there soon."
