I gave my mom a hug and ran to my room, immediately texting my best friend Willow on my old as a dinosaur IPod, I held my breath as the sending progress meter slowly climbed, compliments of our terrible mountain wifi. I read over the text, mentally eyerolling at my familiar overuse of exclamation points and the cry face laughing emoji.
Yo bro!! [our average greeting] Guess what!!?? I have a job this summer!!! [three emoji's] My dads boss needs another gardener for part time! I'm so excited!!!! [two more emoji's] I might actually save enough money to go to France next year!!! [my goal]
About a minute later the read receipt popped up along with the dot dot dot bubble to symbolize her typing back.
