Light
By S.Yousaf
They tried and tried
To dim that light
The light that stood for freedom
The light that stood for equality
The light that stood for you
The light that stood for me
They tried and tried
To switch off that light
But it fought and fought
He fought and fought
The integrity
The honesty
That he had
The belief
The purity
That he carried within him
He fought for it all and then more
It captured
Then
Finally
After struggle and pain
It shone, brighter than the sun
Breaking all barriers
He lit the world
A true inspiration
One who aspired others to do good
One who was the heart of a common man
One who was the envy of the leader man
Now he leaves the world
Now he leaves us
While he goes to heaven to shine the heaven with his light
His light here shimmers, The world becomes dimmer
We mourn our loss
But his legacy shall live on
I pray, we pray
That the belief and purposes of his, live on
May we continue to fight
May we continue to stand tall
May we never forget that man, that light
Who had started it all,
The one who never lost hope even after falling
For he always stood tall
Rest In Peace Tata Nelson Mandela, Prince of our hearts, King of freedom
