A/N: That is Laney! So yeah.

I rushed through the August heat and into the security of Laney's house.
"Honey, I'm home!" I jokingly shouted out.
"Honey I need assistance!!!!" A familiar voice yelled back.
I ran up the stairs to see Laney's hair stuck in her door. How you ask?
"What the hell happened!" I screamed.
"She got mad and slammed the door on me and locked it. I guess she didn't realize I was stuck."
"Why didn't you call her and tell her you were stuck!"
"She was already gone by the time I realized what happened." She said.
I looked at her long blond hair. When I cut it off it wasn't extremely short, just to her chest. She had unusually long hair and needed a cut anyway. She opened the door from the inside and walked over with a hug.
"I thought I would be stuck there forever."
"Thank god I came to make sure you didn't die. Then I would have to start the best friend cycle all over again." I said and she gave me a slight push.
"So what happened with your mom...dad...whatever you're calling her."
Laney's dad died in a car crash when she was 14. Ever since her mom went a little off the rail. Just a bit. She claimed that she was in contact with his spirit and that she was the essence of both of them. Laney humored her for the first few weeks but got too tired of it.
"She's mom. I hate when she brings up how my father feels about things as if she knows his every whim," she said rolling her eyes. "And it went awful. She said that dad was extremely disappointed and that she was too. When I tried to explain the spiked punch bowl she just said, 'Well you should've known.' Can you believe her?"
"Yeah." I said not really paying attention.
Instead I was staring down seeing Ben texting me. He was asking if I was coming or not. Before I could text back Laney grabbed my phone.
"Seriously?! You weren't listening to me so that you could talk to your weirdo ex? He's a total jerk remember?!"
"He just wants to meet me to talk. He saved me big time last night so I should at least go see what he wants."
"What if he kills you there? He's probably a total serial killer freak. He'll probably bury you deep in the woods for me to find. You can't go without me!!!" She said, falling dramatically in my arms.
I pushed her off of me.
"Laney I'll be fine."
She grabbed my leg and pulled to the floor, the both of us laughing hysterically.

Ben's P.O.V
I sat there waiting for Alaska to get to the creek. My hands were sweating and so was my brow. I wiped it away, my hand getting close to my brown hairline. I still had time. I had to tell her the truth. If I didn't I was evil. That was then end of it, but I was terrified. All I had to do was tell her the reason why I broke up with her.
I think she might kill me. If Laney was there then I was definitely dead. This was the biggest moment I could imagine for my freshman year.
I had popularity and lots of friends and this was all that was destined to ruin it. What if they kicked my out of parties or shunned me entirely.
I saw her walking up. She had the same color eyes as I did with a small smirk on her face. Her hair was blowing in the wind and her curvy features were enough to make any guy fall fast. No me though. I was about to totally crush her. Why me?
"Hey."
"Hey." I said back.
"So, weather. Small talk. General explanation of traffic. Small talk small talk. Something about the school basketball tournament. Random joke."
I laughed. This was why I loved her, just not enough. This girl was one of my closest friends for a long time. I hate the way I ended things. She deserves an explanation.
"So, why am I here?"
"I have to tell you something. It's the reason why I broke up with you because you deserve an explanation."
"Ok shoo-"
I cut her off. I had to get this done as quick as possible.
"I'm gay."
"Yeah I know."
See I knew she was going to react li- wait, what?
A/N
Yeah so I left off on a cliff hanger but I have my reasons. There is a new part coming soon so hold in there.
