There's no way I could show my face back in town. I'm for sure wanted by every police officer in the state! "Where are we?" I asked Jeff. "Who knows." He said with a sigh. I shrugged my shoulders, and we kept walking. After a few minutes, we heard someone walking behind us. We turned around and Jeff readied his knife.

"No, please. I'm not here to hurt you." I recognized their voice. It was Tyler. "Tyler? What are you doing here?" I asked him. He stepped out of the trees, and revealed several cuts and bruises. "I had a hard time getting away." He said with a small smile. "There's no way I'm going back there." He said shaking his head.

"Same here." I said, sighing. What will happen to mom and Colby? Will they get over me being gone? Then I realized I would never see Colby's smiling face again, and I would never see mom. But I had to get away from there, I just had too. "Kate, we have to get you home." Jeff told me. "No, I'm not going to leave you alone. All of the police want you dead!"

"Hey, do you guys hear that?" Tyler asked. We heard footsteps getting close. "It's the police!" I whispered. We hid in a clump of bushes until they passed. I'm surprised they didn't check in the bushes. A least that's what they do in the movies. Then some hideous creature jumps out and rips their heads off.

"We need to go in the opposite direction." Tyler whispered to us. We silently left the cover of the bush and followed Tyler. He seemed to know this place like the back of his hand. He told us he he used to go camping every weekend with his family. At least we have someone els on our side now.

Police station.

"Have they found them yet?" Officer Rogers asked officer Garrett. "Haven't found a trace of them." He replied. "This reminds me of the time I had to go on a search for my nephew that killed my brother." Rogers said. "Yeah, I remember that, what was his name again?" Garret asked him. "Toby Rogers. He was a good kid, didn't ever think he would turn into a killing machine."

"I still can't believe we called off the search for him." Garret said with a sigh.
"Me neither, even though he's my nephew. I knew that as soon as he killed his dad, that I would have to put him behind bars, it was tough to imagine." Rogers said. All of a sudden, the phone rang. "Officer Rogers, we found them."

Kate's POV

We were surrounded, we had nowhere to run. "You can't get away now!" I heard an officer yell. Watch us, I thought. I remember being diagnosed with ADHD when I was 12, because the next thing I knew, I was holding Jeff's knife, then throwing it an officers heart. It plunged into his chest, and he collapsed. What have I done? Another cop was talking into a device. "Officer Morris, get back up." We had to get out of here fast, because they were raising their guns in our direction.

"Run!" I screamed, but it was too late. Tyler fell to the ground, barely breathing. "Tyler!" I screamed as I knelt down beside him. He looked at me, and said, "just get out of here, don't...worry about me." He coughed up blood, and went limp. I couldn't control my next actions. I began to laugh hysterically, and slowly stood up. "Why did you kill h-him?" I said, twitching.

I went over to the dead officer and pulled the knife out of his heart. I looked at Jeff, and he looked terrified. "Why don't I k-kill you?" I laughed. They backed up, but kept their guns In The air. "D-drop the g-guns." I said. I don't know why they obeyed me. They dropped their guns, and several started fleeing the scene. "Go join your friends before you end up like this man h-here." The rest of them started to run, and I fell to my knees.

Jeff put his hand on my shoulder. "Kate? Are you okay..?" "Perfectly fine..." I said smiling.

I was sitting on a rock next to a small pond. I still had Jeff's knife. I told him that I needed to be alone for a moment, and I left. I looked at my reflection in the clear water. "I'm just not beautiful.... I need to be smiling..." I whispered. I brought the knife to my face, and began to cut. All the while, singing. "I'm a pretty princess sweet as a pea," I felt warm blood running down my face. "W-waiting f-for my prince t-to marry me..."

I saw Jeff's reflection behind me. He looked terrified. "Kate! What are you doing?!" He ripped the knife out of my hands, but it was too late. There was a smile, a permanent one.
