A Hot Mess

Yusei stormed out of the house. This was what felt like the hundredth argument this month with Jack. Having enough, he left before he resulted in punching his lover/rival. He had been so angry he forgot his gloves and jacket. And, knowing the arrogant man, he wouldn't have any qualms to punch back.

Then they would both end up in the hospital. Not to mention a lot of broken furniture in the process. It would be too much for Crow to clean up by himself. And not to mention to come up with money to replace or fix whatever became a casualty from the two.

After driving around on his bike, still not calmed down, he got a call from Crow. He accepted it, and his friend's face was shown on the monitor.

"Hey, man. I heard what happened. Are you all right?"

Yusei forced a smile, despite how his friend could see right through it.

"Not very well. Speeding around the city isn't helping me like usual. Are you off work already?"

Crow's shifts lasted until late at night these days. It was rare for him to be checking if the other two were still alive so early at night.

"Yeah, today was a slow day. Hey, if you'd like, I can take you to a bar. You look like you need it, bro."

Yusei considered for a moment. Eyes focused on the road so he didn't crash into a truck.

I usually don't go to those. But maybe a change of scene would be good.

"Yeah. Where is it?"

And so, half an hour later he parked his bike next to the familiar Blackbird. He removed his helmet and walked in. Yusei flinched at the loudness, the base so strong he could feel the vibrations not only through his boots, but his chest.

He found Crow at the bar, already drinking. He had a second glass next to his, which the shorter young man scooted it towards Yusei.

Always so considerate, Crow. But...

"You know I don't drink, right?" Yusei raised an eyebrow.

"C'mon, just let go once in a while. I'm only asking you take down one glass, to help ease the tension. You look like you just crawled out of hell, buddy." Crow sighed, almost pouting.

Fuck it, he's right.

Yusei takes the glass and downs it all in one go. The action surprised Crow, for his friend stared at him as if he suddenly turned into Stardust or something.

"Jeez, didn't know you needed it that bad." Crow commented.

"Well, you kinda did have a point."

A few hours rolled by, the pair watching the dancers. Crow drank more than Yusei did, as the taller of the two didn't know his tolerance yet and he wanted to be the one to help Crow out of sticky situations. Once in a while they danced when the mood struck, and when the song changed to something that killed it they sat back down.
