Arthur woke up to the sound of his chamber door creaking shut. His ever considerate manservant was doing his best to sneak in the dark sleepy room, like every morning before.

Arthur pretended to be asleep, doing his best to look as flattering as possible as he heard Merlin pass by.

The King had a habit of doing this, Pretending to be asleep.
One he recently accumulated, since the Pressures of Ruling a Kingdom had stole the heaviness from his sleep. He was now an even lighter sleeper.

He wasn't sure why he did this, but he couldn't help himself.

Perhaps just because.. Merlin.

Arthur found what Merlin did in his spare time to be of extreme relevance. His curiosity on the subject wasn't exactly welcome, but beyond his control.

Usually before waking Arthur, Merlin would find something useful to do, like organize the Messy hurricane of papers swallowing Arthur's busy desk; However today, like the past few, since the troubling buisness with bloody Nightmares and Knights began, the king discovered his servant would just stand next to the window, watching the sun rise through the curtain.

likely savoring the FEW precious moments to himself, before the troubles of another busy day serving the king began, taking with it every ounce of energy and loyalty the man posessed.

Arthur New this.

He also New he had never done anything so good in his life, to be worthy of such a person.

Such a significant friend.

He truly couldn't fathom how he got so lucky.

He could never admit face to face the level of respect, and loyalty he held for this man. His loyal sevant.

At least not with a straight dignified face lacking in MUCH inescapable emotion.

All he could manage to do to express himself was pitifully, to ruthlessly tease and torment the man in a desperate attempt to reveal, and yet diguise His deeprooted affection.

And now with all the things unspoken, the poor king couldn't help but feel entirely resposible for the entire situation.

For The state of his irreplaceable manservant, as he stood there again a seemingly different person. A shade of someone he couldn't completely comprehend.

He couldn't stand it any more.

The guilt, the holding back.

The strange missing piece, deep within him.

Unlike the usual, Arthur didn't wait too be "awakened" today.

He quietly slid out of bed and walked up right beside Merlin, who was so Cleary, completely lost in his head...yet again.
Struggling to even stay conscious, on his feet.

Arthur moved in close, untill Merlins right and Arthur's left shoulders touched.

Arthur braced himself, studying
The other. waiting for him to react or say something, probably sarcastic,
But Merlin didn't even seem to notice much less care at the moment.

The sun was rising.
Beautiful golden light streamed in passed the distant trees beyond the steadfast walls of Camelot, straight through the curtains and shined brilliantly in merlins face, lighting up and highlighting every single minute detail of the man's sharp, Beautiful features.

Arthur stopped breathing for a second.

Merlin's eyes were shining. glistening watery blue, painted with the gold from the sun, dancing and swimming through his rich pupils, almost like some kind of river or stream.
