The two walked in, Tom trailing Elizabeth as always. Elizabeth was amazed at the grandeur of the restaurant; everything was so sleek and elegant. Places like this usually made her nervous, she was always unsure of what to do or say and mostly found herself admiring what was around her. There were dozens of  tables arranged in a way to maximize space all covered in a white tablecloth and wine classes; candles rested at the center waiting to be lit. She looked up to see what was perhaps the biggest chandelier she had seen in her life. The crystal hanging off of it reflected light to every point in the room creating beautiful shadows everywhere. Everything was so....sparkly. She even told Tom this and he just smiled and laughed a little. The din of the room bounced all around creating a dull roar that made Elizabeth shift a little. Tom placed his hand on her back and coaxed her to follow the seating hostess. "It's alright, darling." He knew that she didn't like loud places full of people. He remembered when they had first met and he took her to a birthday party for one of his old school friends. He found her alone in an office/library sitting down with a sad look on her face. "Are you alright?" He had asked.

"Yeah, I'm good. I just have trouble with crowds-- it being loud doesn't help either."

"I'm so sorry. Why didn't you say something? I would've taken you somewhere different if I had known."

"I didn't want to be rude. Plus, I have to learn how to deal with these situations."

"Well, we can go now if you want. I was only here for one person and he seems to be otherwise occupied with the other guests."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive." And that's when he kissed her for the first time, not on the lips, but on the forehead. They left the party and walked around London, wasting the afternoon away looking in shops. He took her in an old antique store full of memorabilia. She found an old copy of a Hemingway book. He knew that she liked books, old ones especially. "Do you want it?" She looked at the  book longingly then put it back and shook her head. "Elizabeth, do you want the book?"

"Yes."

"Then give it to me."

"Why?"

"I'm going to buy it, of course!"

And he did.

Now, as they were being  led to their table, Elizabeth was taking everything around in and Tom  was avoiding eye contact with people so as not to be recognized. They finally reached their seats and there was a 30 second chaos of hugs and handshakes and hug-handshakes. Elizabeth and Darien hugged, complemented each other and then hugged the other's date. Elizabeth grinned when Darien hugged Tom. He was almost a foot taller than her and to see her try to reach up and him bend down was quite a sight. The seating was awarkdly decided. Tom didn't want to leave Elizabeth's side and Benedict didn't want to leave Darien's.

"Oh the boys can just sit on the other side. I want to sit next to my best friend." Darien looked sideways at Elizabeth and smiled, "I haven't see her in months." Benedict nodded and sat down, Tom paused for a milisecond with a slight look of discomfort on his face, but he smiled anyway and sat down next to Benedict. Elizabeth, still standing, laid down her coat. "Well, I need to use the restroom. I'll be right back."

"I think I'll go with her." And both the girls headed off around the corner.

"May I take your drink order?"
