Adrenaline ran through my system for a split second as I was jolted back to life. fuck, I thought to myself. I had missed a slide of notes. I quickly copied down an equation I saw scribbled on the board and continued acting like nothing was up. I let my flipflops slide off my feet and onto the ground in front of me. It was unbelievable to me that my teacher didn't notice my minor doze. I don't know how much I missed but it didn't seem to be all that important anyways. I was an honors student, I'd just look up the concept online if it was really all that important.
The carpet silently scratched at my feet like a cry to be replaced. It was so old that it had almost felt like tile in some places from being trampled over day after day. I was snapped back into reality when my teacher ordered me to close my Chromebook and pay attention.
